i came to realise that when i connect modem to SRT4922, network mode is automatic changed from GSM preferred to WCDMA/HSDPA(simply 3G)
and when this network is not available , it cannot connect.
I'm using Samson twin offset 90 cm, location Nairobi. had to change from Eurostar twin and the results are superb.got it for ksh. 1500 at Riwara Electronics.

These past 2 days, Ses5 has got my full attention, thats to all members who discovered these channels first. Hope they last for a long time!!!!!. long live FTA!!!
Could it be that your location is not covered by the Orange 3G network? Try the modem and those settings on a PC or laptop and see if it works, then proceed to retry on the SRT4922. Also make sure the modem is already loaded with lots of internet bundles. Even Safaricom Huawei modem does not connect on the SRT4922 when bundles are zero.
For new bird hunters, we can expect more before June 2014. In the next 46 days, Sea Launch will be launching the EUTELSAT 3B satellite in April 2014. Airbus Defence and Space has built the EUTELSAT 3B tri-band satellite, which will increase and diversify its resources for markets in Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and South America. The EUTELSAT 3B satellite will be based on the Astrium Eurostar 3000 platform. The spacecraft will be located at Eutelsat's 3 degrees East orbital slot. Sea Launch will insert the EUTELSAT 3B spacecraft into an optimized GTO orbit.
The EUTELSAT 3B satellite has been designed to operate three commercial payloads in the C, Ku and Ka bands. This tri-band configuration will deliver exceptional levels of in-orbit flexibility and coverage from Eutelsats expanding 3° East neighourhood. The satellite will enable Eutelsat to diversify its commercial response to Internet Service Providers, telcos, government agencies and broadcasters operating in Latin America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. EUTELSAT 3B has a designed in-orbit lifetime exceeding 15 years.
Dimensions in orbit: Height: 7.5 meters; Length: Solar Arrays: 31 meters
Mass at Launch: 5,967 kilograms (13,155 lbs.)
Spacecraft power: 12 kW
Operational Lifetime: 15+ years
EUTELSAT 3B is the 34th Eurostar E3000 delivered, the eighth for Eutelsat and the fourth to be launched by Sea Launch. It will be the 36th mission overall for Sea Launch.

Indeed... what a bunch of goodies to keep you glued on the screen.
Meanwhile I am trying to get anyone locally who sells Openview HD receivers. I am keen on watching the ETV,SABC,1,2,3 ,E Kasi + ,E Africa + ,E Movies + which are transmitted in HD. From the info I gather , this is a subscription-free service. One only needs to buy the Openview HD decoder.
