African Satellite World and Sat Gear

African Satellite World and Sat Gear

all satelite on 36 degrees and above are all on eastern side when you are on equator. 36 degrees and below are on western side.

Bro.These sats are positioned and given degrees east or west acording to the greenwich meridium. thus LONDON&ACCRA GHANA. So if you are in Nairobi which is aproximetly 38*east every sat that will be after 38 eastward will be on your east. eg Intelset 906 at 64e and what ever will be beyond 38 westward will be on your west eg Arabsat 5 at 20e.

and anything above 35 degs longtitude is on your ...?

Surely the Gurus must now toss aside the popcorn bowls and bring this matter to a speedy conclusion! We need to be getting back to tracking free birds. Arise Senors Kungu, Ranksat, Msondaa....et all

i concur with you abu i man

What is the best tp to track Yahsat.I want to give a last try with 2.4m prime focus antenna.

try 12168 h 27500, first track nss 12@57 k24 then lower ur dish a litle bit nd ur done.

My thinking is that where the dish faces(East or West) depends on your location( in reference to the longitudes). 16e is 16 degrees away from the Greenwich Meridian on the eastern side. Kenya is 36 degrees away from the Greenwich on the east. This means that 16e is on the west of kenya.
My understanding is thus that the azimuth (which determines where your dish faces) is relative to your location.
NB/ Sats are named as per their longitude positioning. Azimuth is determined by the Asas(hunters) location.

That is my point my friend.

Hehehehe...wanted to see how people reason before I comment. Kenya is generally at around 36 degrees East, thus, satellites at around this position such as Paksat 1R and Eutelsat 36A/B will be directly overhead and can be nabbed with the dish pointing straight up (most noticeable with a primefocus dish). Satellites beyond 36E (from 37 and onwards towards 180E) will be to the east of 36 and thus can only be nabbed with the dish facing East e.g. Yahsat 1A, NSS12, Intelsat 20, Intelsat 906, etc. Satellites with location prior to 36E, i.e from 36E going backwards to zero and 180W will generally be nabbed with the dish facing western direction relative to your location e.g Amos 5, Intelsat 10-02, Nilesats, SES 4, SES 5, Eutelsat 7A/10A/16A/7 west A, etc. I rest my case.

Mr. Ranksat you nailed it.

Well, to add onto what Ranksat said, here is pictorial explanation.

the problem is that u have to understand that the satellites are positioned with reference to the o degree point which as previously explained is at the green witch. So if you look at the drawing then you can understand that any satellite that is past your over head will seem to be in the WEST but you have to know that it is ON THE WEST IN REFERENCE TO YOUR POSITION not that of the green witch...
Am not good in drawing and am still rusty in the names and positions of the satellite but am sure there are other gurus here who can make better descriptions i hope this helps.:music:

So you agree with me on this?

the ASAS has fully affected mi im from Riwaria with samson twin n satelite finder i have found that they also have a samson lnb with four slot n said is new in market i didnot buy it but wait to hear from gurus what its capacity and effectiveness

wow. now we have a Samson quad. how i wish you took a pic of this lnb. with samsons reputation i guess this will be the solution to all the weak signals from the fringe sats. btw did you get to know the price?

In the spirit of ASAS let us shed more light on this issue so that there will be no confusion. I think we all have pieces of the puzzle but we need to explain things well. The confusion started with 16 degrees west mentioned earlier. There is no Satellite at 16 degrees west but there is Eutelsat 16A at 16 degrees East.I live in a city in West Africa that is located on the Greenwich Meridian i.e. Longtitude 0 degrees where East meets West and vice versa. All the satellites named East by Flysat, Kingofsat,Lyngsat,Satbeams etc are on my East, so also is those named West. In East Africa e.g. Nairobi is located at Longtitude 36 degrees East this means that your dish must face the west if you want to track Multi tv at 28.2E, badr at 26E, Arabsat 5C at 20E, Amos 5 at 17E, Eutelsat 16A at 16E, Eutelsat 7A, SES 5 at 5E and all the satellites West of Greenwich Meridian. The fact that some of the Eastern satellites are on your West does not change for example 16E to 16W even though its on your West. I am sure that the confusion was the context in which East or West was used. Was it location or direction? Sometimes we need to be clear so that we dont get confused. the satellites one can received is dependent of ones latitude. I humbly make this submission in the spirit of FTA. My brothers in the East your comments are welcome we are all learning.

Staddos, Lagat , I believe the asas patients have now understood the contribution explains it all

HD channels and mmx movies are encrypted under IRDETO while others are under cryptoworks.
