If you have loads of internet just get starsat SR2000 extreme you won't regret. Except of course for the huge internet bills you'll be footing
Yeah freq! Internet costs are cheaper here in Tz and the speed is just that good!
This starsat is one box many people recommends and the other is Qsat q19g. Qsat is way cheaper and easily found on Aliexpress! My only issue is I'm a savvy guy, don't wanna splash some cash on boxes and ending up yapping allover! I need an empirical standpoint to justify which one to welcome in.

Ehee watch out sana.
There are some members here who hate IPTV or anything likely to replace their dishes. So tread carefully when discussing IPTV. You have been warned !!!
Thank you for the warning dejumbo!
I have not faced such people yet! Maybe I'm lucky, these people provides constructive arguments and I'm liking it.
But I'm not going to throw away my dishes, not so fast! Heheh! They are here to stay and will coexist with IPTV.

Nobody is against iptv.. infact I advocate for watching stuff like EPL through iptv.. many can afford streaming internet for about 2hrs on European football games.. its also economical that way instead of dedicating 6 ft or 8ft dish for use in watching football for only about 6hrs a week and being idle rest of the time.

Streaming pass-time tv all the day through internet like its done with sat still sounds like fallacy to me though even if you can afford it. You're withholding internet bandwidth that could be used in more productive activities elsewhere. This is Africa! It's like being on YouTube the whole day 80% of the time not actually watching the screen while some student somewhere cannot finish his project because the internet is slow. Another can't upload his CV and apply for a job because the TV guy has bought all the bandwidth.

You see .. unlike broadcasting, internet is a limited resource. If as Africans we want to benefit from it and progress, we must harness it more productively.

And what I detest most is people who think they can afford internet and thus iptv coming here and talking down onto us like we are some peasants who keep the dishes because we are too broke to stream.

You don't go to a waragi bar and start talking sht about waragi. Even if waragi is a cheap alcohol

Starsat is made for Iptv. Infact On the remote there's a button specifically for that.

Without internet, starsat is just as good as SRT4950. (Psss everyone if you don't have loads of internet don't splash money on it)

But feed it internet and it opens worlds beyond imagination with it's "servers" channels from the US , Europe UAE etc.

I saw a demo.

I think we are here for enlightment and honestly we all share what we know and at least for me I havent seen anyne being against IPTV at least for once. And like I said I'm keeping my dishes, infact yesterday I got another one but I'm all in for IPTV and that is for sure!
For me I understand that as long as there is a channel you like out there and its not within your reach, you can certainly watch it through IPV as long as it doesn't cost you more than the cost of upgrading to a bigger dish! that is as sound as it should be! Other than that its personal preference, something which I can't say whether its wrong or right.

X-PONDER Do some test runs on OSN on Nilesat 201 & Eutelsat 7 West A/8 West B at 7.0°W see if opens that package na canalsat pia

The functionality of both boxes is miles apart. I expect starsat to offer support for a longer period, also the servers offering support on Starsat is very stable.

Hehehe I like your line of thought but bandwidth and data usage in Africa is mostly by entertainment. If you try logging in and can't browse, think of a Kenyan watching blue content. Or streaming YouTube. I sometimes see people chatting for 10hrs but can't Google a simple question like a Tp. or footprint.

there are some rumours the 9 ladies are back ...... somewhere .......if you have any leads pm iko around canal 22w either above or below

The allure of IPTV is high but the joy, exhilaration and excitement i feel after assembling a dish and tracking a new satellite is very fulfilling to me.
