African Satellite World and Sat Gear

Its good to test new grounds, try and report improvement, but for the same i would have given you two Pauxis px2000 lnbs and shipping. I use the Px2000 and have stable DHD at Q72 through the day and Q69 at night on Freesat V7 combo. Only drops around midnight to Q66 then rises around 30mins later.
In satellite world no Lnb can compensate for an increase in dish size.
If you increase the size of a dish from 6ft to 8ft , signal improves by around 50%.
Hi Giden. For how much are you selling the Pauxis px2000 lnb? ASAS price that is. (sorry I could not do the math from those dollar amounts, shipping , taxes et. al you may have alluded to in Let Love Reign's quote)

Just Checking. Why do we have such a large variation in the tp frequencies that a freesat v7 combo throws up on a blind scan compared to what is conventionally known on flysat, lyngsat etc? Case in point, on IS20 the S*n* S*x tp comes out as 3902 V 22222 on an SRT 4922 box (pretty close to the indicated 3900 V 22222 from flysat) , but the combo one indicates 10998 V 22221 (which looks like it should be a ku-band tp!)

I would not have minded much about this were it not for the snag in getting the S*y News tp (4197 v 4000) to dance. Surprisingly, a casual scan on the 4922 delivers it smoothly with key I fed in a long time ago, yet the combo with the latest patch fails. I tried to manually edit the tp in the combo, but it failed to accept it claiming "out of range".

Assistance rendered on this would be greatly appreciated house.

Sory if I may have jumped on your train. The only explanation I find to be valid in such experience is that in your V7 Combo you have set your Lnb frequency in Universal setting, this is the KU format not the CBand frequency format, thus giving you the KU freq format which is 9750/10600 or the other with /10700 or 10750 instead of the usual Cband format.

What you have to do is, in your satellite setting where you find lnb frequency change to 5150 that is the normal CBAND format that will give you the exact Cband frequency you see in flysat or lyngsat.
The button to press when you are there are the same with volume or channel change from your remote control.

Hope it is of some help.

Will update the house once i get my hands on it and thanks for the offer. It might come handy someday.

You are right about it brother. If it was just about an lnb alone, there wouldn't be 4 ft, 6 ft 8 ft 12 ft etc.

Actually for me that is kinder of a longshot as i got plans to upgrade to 8ft from 6ft.
But like I said, before shelving out that much for another dish, i might get "the best" as they say in those ends and try it on my current setup.
If that works better and my desired channels dances 24/7 then I might call it off for an 8ft dish.

Now you got me interested, you mean those scovery channels are on 24/7 with a six feet dish?
yes % stable.

That LNBF looks so rusty hadi maji imeingia ndani. Hope it will still be useful but I will carry it with me. Thanks though. I am now set to find how I can get an exact same dish from the Kakamega Post Office as five more still lie on the roof unused.
Take 3 and send me one that Vsat lnb alone costs more than 20k new, now its useless.

Anyone in the house using prime focus 6 ft with yahsat 52.5 as primary lnb to post a picture and elevation of the dish
make Satbeams.com and satstar.net your friend for elevation, skew and footprint details. using your location you get your exact details.

Some bit of advice as you bring it apart...if my experience this weekend is anything to go by; Please first grease all the rusty nuts and bolts before you loosen them. I had a rusted bolt (on the feedhorn of a Eurostar cband dish) first refuse to come out using a ring spanner... and thinking more force was required, I brought in my dewalt cordless wrench to finish the job. Lo and behold, the damn thing snapped leaving a portion inside the hole which I have yet to figure out how to remove. Apply a bit of grease on the others easily nudged them off.
For such we use brake fluid. It is better off than grease as it easily penetrates the rust due to it being highly viscous. Thanks for the heads up though. I appreciate. Viva!!

Let me approach and try convince the Post office management if they will allow me carry away the dishes. Then we can do business bro.

Oh! Thank you for your observation brother on the screw driver! I never thought about that! I hope my screw driver toolset will have one of the piece drive that thing.

Will update the house!View attachment 770696

I am sorry but your set of screw drivers won't work. An Allen key set looks like this....

You can even use Salad. Ama mafuta ya alovera

How do you know elevation of prime focus dish
Just use experience and common sense. For starters, when the dish is pointing straight up in the Sky while in Nairobi (or Nyeri), it is pointing at about 37 deg East. when you move it towards Mombasa, it increases by about 4 degrees per inch moved on the elevation support.

for azimuth, being in Nyeri, point your dish towards Gathehu or Kangaita

most importantly use a beeper

whats good there?
Nothing special mate just some FTA channels bundled by T*NG. at least for me. I have it (parasited) (is that even a word) on my 90 cm dish for Tanzania local channels including kwaya(Choir) or gospel music, NATGEO KIDS, MBC2, NILE SPORT, ALJAZEERA, TBN BBC EMMANUEL TV, cartoon, morning star TV etc ( Like 40 something in total.
Currently FTA.

hope they last

hope they last
Yeah! They completely disappeared last week for some three days, they came back for like 4 days now with 40 + FTA while some 20 plus encripted.
For me it doesn't matter coz its the F*Re TV (broadcasting Nyimbo za Injili) and the TZ local channels that keep my lnb fixed there.
