African Satellite World and Sat Gear

African Satellite World and Sat Gear

I really envy you for the catch. that is a gem. The dish would easily set you back between 50-100,000ksh depending on size. if its too big for you throw it here . looks like 1.5m offset which can give you a alot.
I just got lucky bro. Nitachukua futi niipime nijue the exact size. But the reflector plate itself is not made of metal but hard carbon fibre..very heavy plus the support stand...

It's not called a transponder but its an uplink/downlink lnbf or simply vsat lnb. carry everything dont throw away especially the feedhorn (funnel thingy )
That LNBF looks so rusty hadi maji imeingia ndani. Hope it will still be useful but I will carry it with me. Thanks though. I am now set to find how I can get an exact same dish from the Kakamega Post Office as five more still lie on the roof unused.

Now you got me interested, you mean those scovery channels are on 24/7 with a six feet dish?[/QUOTE]

It's very stable with a 6ft prime focus dish ranging from 69% maximum and 66-63% minimum in the evenings. Pauxis LNB might work for you.

No you can enjoy, i have it on my 6ft, Q66 as parasite with Diva also stable at Q66 , lnb Es21+, decoder V7 combo.
At freq & giden... I have aimed the 6ft at it as the only target.... The educational purposes tps are maxed .....this one shows only traces....
My location maybe.... coast....can't even think about yahsat , mena beams are also weak here.... But Thx

I will definitely go for it. Now the remaining bit is to look for spanners and spanner boys to help dismount it. That will be this weekend hopefully. Then to fabricate it and remove the transponder will be the next thing.
Some bit of advice as you bring it apart...if my experience this weekend is anything to go by; Please first grease all the rusty nuts and bolts before you loosen them. I had a rusted bolt (on the feedhorn of a Eurostar cband dish) first refuse to come out using a ring spanner... and thinking more force was required, I brought in my dewalt cordless wrench to finish the job. Lo and behold, the damn thing snapped leaving a portion inside the hole which I have yet to figure out how to remove. Apply a bit of grease on the others easily nudged them off.

Anyone in the house using prime focus 6 ft with yahsat 52.5 as primary lnb to post a picture and elevation of the dish

Grease is too 'messy'. Use WD40. Available in supermarkets.

they do not show much though. just an empty sky as viewed from international space station
Well most of the time but not always. I usually enjoy the interview sessions between the astronauts and ground control with the former in zero gravity. Am often amused when say one astronaut 'hands over' the microphone to the other by leaving it to float in the air; It's just out of this world! And talking of the International space station, conspiracy theorist aver that some covert experiments (NASA wont admit anyway) are going on there e.g. is sexual intercourse possible in zero gravity? Am currently reading a book on stuff like this.

try and report back. I,ve been curious on the performance on this lnb. Its made by american standards complete with external heat sink. make sure you got allan keys it does not use ordinary screw driver for adjustment
Oh! Thank you for your observation brother on the screw driver! I never thought about that! I hope my screw driver toolset will have one of the piece drive that thing.

Will update the house!

It will not be useful because vsat lnb dont alternate transpoder(h/v or R/L) like normal lnb
