Black cowboys have played a significant role in Louisiana’s history, contributing to the state’s rich cultural tapestry. Enslaved Africans brought to Louisiana in the 18th century were among the first cowboys in the region. These individuals, known as “vachères” in French, were responsible for herding cattle on early French ranches in southwest Louisiana.

The skills and traditions of these early Black cowboys have been preserved and celebrated through various cultural practices, notably the Creole trail rides. These events, prevalent in Louisiana and Texas, are vibrant gatherings featuring processions, zydeco music, dancing, and feasting. They serve as a testament to the enduring legacy of Black cowboys and their influence on the region’s culture.

Many Louisiana and Texas residents have been riding horses since childhood, participating in trail rides that celebrate their heritage and

THE STORY OF GONGO ~ FROM NYAKACH SIDE

From stories passed down to me.

Gongo is a clan from Nyakach Kajimbo.
Jimbo's brother was Ndaria and the Kandaria and Kajimbo don't intermarry to date.

Jimbo bore Oyua and Okal. Oyua was named after Oyua Ngori, the son of Agola. Oyua Ngori is the father of all Jo Nyakach. There's a contention on the name Nyakach, some saying it's the home Oyua built for his people and stuck as their name. Again, from that passed to me, Oyua bore Nyakach who bore Jimbo. So Jimbo named his elder son after his grandfather.
Okal bore Were, Lwande and Nyapong' and all those clans are in present Nyakach.
Oyua bore Odiwa and one Obuya, though this second name I'm still doing research over if. Odiwa was named after Jimbo's mother. The mother to Jimbo and Ndaria was called Odiwa.
Odiwa bore Gak (Kagak in Nyakach and Wire in Oyugis), Guria (Kaguria in Ndhiwa) and Mwala (Kamwala in Karachuonyo).
Obuya, from his elder wife bore Hema(Saema) and Duong'(Kaduong') (all in Nyakach). Some Saema are in Seme.
The second wife was called Jodo Nyar Chieko. She was married at Obuya's old age. When Obuya died, he left the wife in the custody of his jatich from Kisumo Nyahera called Nyuto Nyikel, against the wish of Duong and Hema, who felt the father had disrespected them by giving a stranger his last wife.
So, after Father's death, they made the life of the wife and jater miserable. By bad luck, the woman became pregnant and upon delivery, gave birth to twins. That was the start of hell. Giving birth to twins was a curse by then. The jater fled that night, and by morning break he was nowhere to be seen. He ran back to Nyahera.
The two twins were called Odongo and Opiyo.
Life at this home became so tough for this twins that soon Odongo ran away from home, to the lake shores to harvest reeds (togo). While harvesting reeds one time, he didn't realize he was on a floating stump of papyrus reeds(togo), that drifted with the winds until it docked at a shore on the other sides of the lake.
He left the abuoro out, so hungry and weak. Some old men resided on these lands. They could send their sons to tether the cattle at the lake shores. Odongo would leave and milk the cattle and rush back to hide within the reeds.
The old men were shocked that each evening, there was absolutely no milk from their cattle. It went on for several days until one time they decided to hide by the shores, to see who did this. They chanced upon Odongo and seeing how frail he was, took him home. The man who had picked him was called Gongo. Other sources tend to say that it's Obuya who had picked him and wasn't the man who had married their mother, and it tends to say that the man who had married Jodo Nyar Ochieko was the one called Gongo. I'm not sure about this, so I won't assert so.
So Gongo picked the boy and brought him into his household. Odongo later came for his brother and they went to live together with Gongo. And Gongo married for them, and they became his sons.
Gongo gave Odongo one of his barren wives as a wife. After Gongo's death, his wife Achola Nyar Akur gave birth to a daughter called Agwa who got married in Uyoma Kagwa clan.

What is known is that Gongo consists of Jokodongo and Jokopiyo. And the Gongo and Kajimbo in Nyakach and Kaguria in Ndhiwa and Kandaria in Nyakach and Kamwala don't intermarry, because of the consanguinity.

The story is long though.
This is the story of Gongo from the sides of Kajimbo as passed down to me by my forefathers.
If one has anything, he's free to add or subtract, but with good points and evidences.

Africa: The Cradle of Civilization, The Pillar of Knowledge

They came and claimed they had discovered us—yet we were already here. They named our rivers, lakes, and mountains as if they had just appeared, erasing the names we had known for generations. They pretended we had no history, but let us access our history, if only to remind ourselves that Africa is the cradle of human civilization.

When Europeans were still living in caves, the Dogon people of Mali had already mapped the stars. When they were eating raw méåt, Africans had already mastered fire. Africans were the pioneers. Even if we turn to religion, I am a reader of the Bible, and it records:

“And God said, let us create man in our own image... and He took soil and formed man out of it.”

The last time I checked, soil is black or brown—not white. And I checked this evening, the soil is still black, the soil is still brown. If man was created in God’s image, then the Black race is divine.

Africa has been minimized and ab_used for centuries. Look at the world maps drawn by European cartographers—they shrink Africa to make it appear smaller than the U.S. Why? To diminish us. Even the so-called “Middle East”—what is middle about it? How is Madagascar part of Africa but Israel is not?

They want us to forget, but we must remind ourselves.

• The Pyramids of Kemet (Egypt) still defy modern engineering—Africans built them.

• The Walls of Benin are four times longer than the Great Wall of China.

• The rock-hewn temples of Lalibela in Ethiopia, carved straight from the ground, are African wonders.

• The Great Zimbabwe walls stand as proof of African architectural excellence.

They came and distorted faith. God created the Earth, yet God is neither Christian nor Muslim nor Methodist—God is spirit. As Desmond Tutu once said, “God is not a Christian.” But over time, they whitened God to fit their own narratives.

Despite everything they have done to erase Africa, even in their own history, their “greatest minds” came to Africa to seek knowledge.

• Socrates came to Africa and met Orunmila of the Yoruba, a greater philosopher than him.

• Pythagoras came to Africa because knowledge resided here.

• Mohammed (PBUH) was in Africa.

• Yeshua (Jesus) was in Africa.

• Lord Krishna came to Africa to seek wisdom.

They colonized us because they féaréd us. Now, their new project is Neocolonialism. Make no mistake—Neocolonialism is the twin of Colonization, and their mother is Imperialism. It never changed its character, only the mask it wears.

They mis_used Christianity against us. They told us to close our eyes and pray—and when we opened them, our land was gone.

When Europeans arrived in Africa, they didn’t find a continent of sav_ages. They found a highly advanced civilization. But they rewrote history to make themselves the heroes of a story that was never theirs to tell.

Africa, rise and remember who we are ✊🏿🔥

You can see Africa from places such as Gibraltar, Tarifa, Estepona, Marbella and even Montes de Malaga Natural Park. The African continent isn't as far from Spain as you think, so it's possible to get beautiful views of the north of Africa (Morocco) on clear and sunny days.

Ota Benga was a Congolese pygmy who was taken from his homeland and brought to the United States as part of a human exhibition. In 1906, he was put on display at the Bronx Zoo in a cage with an orangutan, reinforcing racist pseudoscientific ideas about evolution. Public outrage eventually led to his release, but he struggled to find a place in American society. Isolated and unable to return home, he took his own life in 1916.

Alikua mtu tofauti wakati hakuwa amevaa sare," anasema Thomas Johnson, mhariri mwenza wa A True Likeness.

PROF. NGOUMA LOKITO AT 66 YEARS.

LONG LIVE MR.BASSIST.
1744073310750.jpg

See the young man in this picture? He was 18 years old when it was taken at the train station in Mobile, Alabama, in 1952.
There is $1.50 in his pocket. In that bag by his foot are two changes of clothes. (And if his mama was anything like most other mamas in the South, probably some sandwiches and other snacks.)
He was on his way to Indiana to take a job. He was going to play baseball for the Indy Clowns of the Negro Leagues. Apparently, he was pretty good at it. A couple of years later, he was signed by the Milwaukee Brewers. He played for the Brewers for 2 seasons, then moved across town to the Braves, and later followed them to Atlanta. Eventually, he was the last Negro League player to be on a major league roster.
He still hangs around the baseball world. At the moment, he's the senior vice president of the Atlanta Braves. Even though the team has changed stadiums (twice) since then, his retired number, 44, still hangs on the outfield wall of the old Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium near where he belted a homer to break Babe Ruth's all-time record which he held for 33 years).
Remembering "Hammerin' Hank" Aaron, who passed away on 22 January 2021.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE EUROPAINS & ARABS ....YOU ARE VIEWED AS A WHORE FOR THEM ....

THE TRAGIC STORY OF THESE AFRIKAN BLOOD WOMEN CHASING THESE EUROPAINS & ARABS ...HAVEN'T WE NOT LEARNED ENOUGH FROM THESE PEOPLE ...

family of Kenyan woman who died after a night out with British soldiers

Criminal investigators in Kenya said on Monday they have concluded a probe into the death of a young mother in 2012 who was last seen alive in the company of British solders who were in the country for training.

The office of the public prosecutor said it had received the file and had put together a team of senior prosecutors to review the case.

The body of 21-year-old Agnes Wanjiru was found in a septic tank at Nanyuki town, north of Mt. Kenya, weeks after witnesses said she was seen leaving a bar with British soldiers.

Wanjiru’s family has in the past decried delayed justice because nobody had been charged in court.

On Monday, U.K Defense Secretary John Healey met Wanjiru’s relatives and vowed to “help the family secure the justice they deserve.”

“It was deeply humbling to meet the family of Agnes Wanjiru today. In the 13 years since her death they have shown such strength in their long fight for justice,” Healey said in a statement on X. “We will continue to offer our full support to the Kenyan authorities

Healey said he would meet Kenya’s President William Ruto, adding: “I will emphasise the need to accelerate progress in this case.”

In a statement shared by the British embassy, the family said it was grateful to have met Healey after being “offered too many empty promises.” They added that they were hoping the U.K and Kenya would work together to bring closure to the matter.

Wanjiru's daughter, who was five-months old when her mother disappeared and is now 13, has remained in the care of her grandmother and aunt.

Britain has roughly 200 military personnel permanently based in Kenya. Most of them currently are training more than 1,000 Kenyan soldiers a year before their deployment to neighboring Somalia to combat al-Qaida’s longtime East Africa affiliate, al-Shabab.

The British government invests more than 1.1 billion Kenyan shillings ($9.6 million) every year into the partnership. Kenyans have in the past raised concerns about the way British forces treat local residents and the environment in their training ground.
