72 more Kenyans have tested positive for coronavirus bringing the total to 2,093.

The latest figures are from 2892 samples tested within the last 24 hours: 50 of them are male and 22 are female.

The youngest is 11 years old while the oldest is 73 years.

Total cumulative samples tested so far are 82,946.

The new cases of the COVID-19 disease are distributed in Nairobi (39), Busia (13), Mombasa (8), Kajiado (4), Migori (3), Kiambu (2), Garissa (2) and Kisumu (1).

Nairobi cases were reported from Kibra (16), Embakasi South (8), Ruaraka (5), Westlands (5), Langata (2), Embakasi West (1), Starehe (1) and Dagoretti North (1).

Mombasa County: Mvita (2), Changamwe (2), Kisauni (2), Likoni (1) and Nyali (1).

Kajiado: Namanga border point (3) and Kitengela (1).

Migori: All the 3 cases are from Isebania border point.

Kiambu: 2 cases from Githunguri.

Garissa: 2 patients from Garissa Town.

Kisumu: 1 case from Kisumu Central.

17 patients have been discharged in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of recoveries to 499.

Two patients however succumbed to the disease: death toll now stands at 71.
