10 people killed in retaliatory attack at Makutani, Baringo

Baringo Red Cross has asked for reinforcement from Nairobi in anticipation of revenge attack from Ilchamus community after 10 people were killed by suspected Pokot raiders.

Three people were injured in the night attack at Mukutani in Baringo. Gunmen continue terrorizing residents amid security operation. The attack is believed to have been carried out early morning where residents were shot and slashed by the bandits.

Red Cross took the injured to Marigat District Hospital where they are receiving treatment. Recently Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery gazetted 19 areas in Baringo as disturbed and dangerous.

The DP William Ruto also visited the area to launch a security operation. Despite the ongoing operation reports of killing and attacks have continued.
