Yona/Mramba case: Innocent men wrongly convicted?

It has been exactly two weeks since former cabinet ministers Daniel Yona and Basil Mramba were jailed following their seven year old case in which they were accused of losing the government TShs 11.7 billion through a tax exemption that was approved by President Mkapa and parliament.

Thus far all we have heard is the prosecutor's/government's side of the case which in of itself was only to say the men were found guilty. There hasn't been a clear justification of this non-unanimous verdict. That is, until now that the verdicts have been released for the world to see.

But what about the defence's side? Let's play devil's advocate. If the verdicts are anything to go by, (and they are), then these men have clearly been wrongly convicted. What does this case say about the Tanzanian judiciary when a case takes seven years to prosecute? Is this a classic case of 'justice delayed/justice denied'? Who is behind this? How did the chief magistrate in this case Utamwa come to a dissenting judgement of Not Guilty while his counterparts Kinemela and Rumanyika rendered a Guilty verdict?

Mmetulisha nyasi bado mnalalamika ngoja nao waonje hata hizo siku mbili. Case kuchukua siku nyingi ilikuwa ni justification ya zimwi likujualo halikuli likakwisha. Hiyo adhabu ni chamtoto na ingepaswa kupigwa within a yr. Hii nchi tunadharauliana sana. Ipo siku...TUTAHESHIMIANA TU
 
Hivi mbona kesi nyingi zenye utata, hasa zinazohusu "wakubwa" ccm/serikali, lazima Jaji Utumwa awemo ndani? Ni "coincidence" au ni "strategic"???

Ungejua kuwa wengi tumefurahi kuona wamenyolewa kibabe na kukaa ndani hata kwa hizo wiki 3 usingeleta thread ya kutaka huruma yetu.

Wanasem Mramba kaisababishia Serikali hasara ya Bilioni 14, piga ua hata kama kaonewa lazima kachukua si chini ya Bilioni 3. Mimi niko Tayari kufungwa miaka 4 kama ukinipa Bilioni 3
