Why Magufuli administration misses the point on Government splurge

Basic design and structural problems which led to the floods destruction of the first bridge have not been resolved nor are they fully understood no wonder same old solutions are repeated here.

So we ought not to be surprised the newly constructed bridge to be washed away sooner than later because the morram under the bridge besides the culverts block smooth passage of water... Nobody cares to involve hydrologists in road and bridge construction as a result the amount of flood anticipated to pass under the bridge remains not incorporated in the design. So bridge design and construction is a scattergun at best and one needs to fidget his fingers when heavy down pour comes calling

Again, disciplining juniors and forgiving seniors is itself a misdiagnose of the problem at hand. The infrastructure ministry is a top down heavy organization meaning when things go wrong those at the top should bear the most responsibility

No way incompetent ministers and ceo are treated with velvet gloves because the buck stops at them.

Regional managers are administrative engineers not involved in design and apportionment of funds so in this case they are being taken to scissors for others' incompetence

Most surprising, the minister is not apologizing for failure to ensure such deficiencies of structural engineering design happened in the first place but he is apologizing for not interdicting the hapless engineers but the main questions remain unattended: which company designed the bridge, which tender board awarded them a contract? And, who supervised its construction really not where the bulk of a problem is because he wasn't involved in the designs.

We can now authoritatively indict the structural designing company at faulty for poor design and tanroad top managers with their board of directors for failure to detect those structural drawbacks not forgetting the minister for not understanding the incompetence of those below him starting with the permanent secretary.. So, the administrative engineers now under the noose are guiltless.. It is a case of misjoinder of the accused, to say the least. And the saddest part of it blaming the blameless seems politically correct rather than getting to the root of the matter! Engineering design issues blaming administrative engineers who had zero input on the designs in itself highlights how blue-eyed our rulers of the day are.. Condonation of poor designs compound our ability to fix these passim issues once and for all.

Tanroad regional managers are administrative engineers and not involved in the decisions of such a magnitude so without dealing with deficiencies in structural engineering designs, tender procurement and supervision - properly enforcing accountability will never take place save for politicking; henceforth, no similar future structural engineering and organizational bottlenecks arrested beyond exacting injustices to the disempowered managers

The ministry of health response to Coronavirus, so far, is quite shocking, appalling and disappointing!

They were caught napping until one case has been reported now we are being treated to reality TV gone bizarre.

Some meagre funds to the tune of Tshs 500 mill are being released today to do things which ought to have been done in January such as designations of quarantine infrastructures across the country. The ministry is mute to give a break down of what that small change will do to combat the pandemic. This is baffling considering a few days ago we boasted before the Chinese ambassador that we were not only capable but willing to combat the pandemic in China by despatching our grossly underpaid doctors who have not been even given an opportunity to sample and visualize a Coronavirus testing kit!

Todate, no Coronavirus test equipments, intubations and respirators have been made available in government hospitals across the country save Muhimbili Hospital and no surgical masks at all have been budgeted or reserved specifically to cater for the suspected individuals there so our medical practitioners could be infected and could pose a serious health threat to the society at large... Once a case is suspected blood samples have to be shipped to Dar! A journey of at least a day when one factors in time needed to test the samples and results known - a week may be squandered risking the lives of the suspected cases. If this is not enough, the ministry under Ummy shaky hand is yet to outline a first line of treatment of Coronavirus beyond saying the suspected case is being taken care of, but how? Without government first line of response guidelines, medical practitioners across the country are addlebrained on how to confront the pandemic! Is this too much to ask? What types of treatment are recommended by the Ministry?

Devoid of a breakdown of how the measly Tshs 500 mill gonna be disbursed we are in no way displaying pessimism nor cynicism to postulate that most of the "vijisenti" touted so far could be gobbled by bureaucrats in supervision allowances and air, road travel...just to name a few. Did they say "kufa kufaana" in vain? Me thinks not!

The minister should stop playing politics with our precious lives!

Again, this is a gratitude of appointing minions solely on loyalty criterion torching meritocracy sadly without remorse...

The pandemic has now beginning to test the efficacy of our leadership, and when one incorporates underlying health issues befuddling our populace Coronavirus could potentially wipe many a soul..
Not the quiddity of the Coronavirus parse which will be the real grim ripper but underlying health issues have degraded the natural immunity system to such an extent standing before the debilitating pandemic becomes an uphill task.

Good news on Coronavirus vaccine but comes with plenty of hiccups which include 18 months mandatory period before approval despite actual testing begins on Monday in Seattle Washington

And may not be available worldwide until investors of research have recouped their investments who are drooling to a rip off over our health plight

So may not give relief assuring to our current health predicament

Biti please I correct you that democracy is more than electricity and water though vital but let us not lower the sanctity of democratic rights which are quintessentially human rights..

Your argument falls apart because in Tz there are those utilities but we are not free at all.. Will he accept totalitarian regime if he has electricity and water?

Well, better refuse to be controlled and determine own destiny for start

But the problem for Mbowe is timing why being a coward for four years and then despite the Coronavirus contagion posing serious health issues during congregating he sees an opportunity to defy the authority

We know the opposition knows they have been locked out of the race but now are fighting for their own bread not for their followers

If they were fighting for a cause why lying low for four years and when you see you gonna be kicked out of the parliament then you remember you still have dander in your guts.. Teh Teh Teh

Just hold your peace as you have been snoozing and snoring for the last four years and pay a full overdue price for your cowardice and procrastination
