“When you see a General who prefers violence as the best means of solving problems, then there’s a problem,” Major General Kahinda Otafiire has said.
Speaking during his maiden address to the 12th Parliament, the Minister of Water and Environment cautioned military leaders against making violence their preferred approach to resolving conflicts.
Otafiire argued that true military greatness is not measured by the number of bullets a General fires, but by their ability to resolve conflicts without resorting to armed confrontation.
He said the progress of civilisation depends on how people manage contradictions and disagreements without violence.
“The greatest Generals I know of are those who solve problems without shooting a bullet,” Otafiire added.
