After a very peaceful transition of power following the untimely departure of the fifth phase president of Tanzania, Dr. John Pombe Magufuli, Tanzania now under the first female president, Samia Suluhu Hassan, who has assured wananchi not to worry, the nation is in safe hands, is optimistically looking for a bright future

While Africa and the world are watching with special interest to see if the concept which was well articulated by Cheikh Anta Diop in his series of essays in the 1940s through 1960s and which was invigorated in the land of Mwalimu Nyerere by the late John Magufuli, if it will endure under President Samia Suluhu Hassan, Tanzanians are very enthusiastic.

The essays collected in the book “Towards the African Renaissance: Essays in culture and development, 1946 – 1960,” enlightens on the necessity of African people and nations to overcome the current challenges confronting the continent to achieve cultural, scientific, and economic renewal by themselves.

Yes, African solutions for African problems. The African freedom fathers struggled for political freedom in order to begin the work of overcoming poverty, ignorance and disease, which have been our constant enemies even after independence. With President on the helm, Tanzania is promising to put a good fight against these traditional enemies.

Attending the President’s Forum in Claremont, California on 16th, May 1999, only five months before he embarked on the better world, Mwalimu Nyerere said economic liberation was the challenge for the new generation of the African leaders and that they have to succeed in that mission.

“It’s time for cleaning up the remaining elements of irresponsible and non- accountable leaders. It’s time for good governance and for new leadership to be able to say No! to those meddling in the internal affairs of Africa.”

In the first days in office, President Samia is showing all signs of a leader Tanzania and Africa needs at this moment. Though soft spoken as opposed to her predecessor, she is very firm on key issue that matters to the nation.

She already ordered the enhanced security in protecting the precious mineral, Tanzanite, which as she said, there are signs of some unfaithful staff robbing the nation at Mererani.

Samia has shown all the signs that she will walk the talk and the expectation of the first generation of the African leaders. After political independence, economic and mental emancipation are remaining key challenges for Africa today, and Mama Samia Suluhu Hassan is taking them head on.

That is why it’s imperative, that as it is with Chama Cha Mapinduzi respected tradition to honor her victoriously with the party chairpersonship, so she can be in a good position to pilot the implementation of the CCM 2020 – 2025 manifesto.

With Mama Samia on the driving seat, Tanzanians, in the same way it used to be the reliable rear base for the liberation struggles, it’s once again holding the key for African emancipation from economic captivity, under the first ever female president.

THANK YOU SAMIA

Firtst of all, we don't want mere promises. So far nothing done to rebuild our trust & confidence.

Second of all, we are not safe on the ground that all bad/oppressive laws enacted by JPM are still operating.

Thirdly, All appointees of JPM are still in office regardless of their looting eg Mpango, Ndugai.

... YES, VERY VERY SAFE AND READY TO FACE THE FUTURE WITH OPTIMISM!
... NO MORE HE-GOAT PARANOIA!
👊✌️💥

ICC Prosecutor Karim A.A. Khan QC on 17 July: Day of International Criminal Justice

Below is the read out excerpts from the video of ICC Prosecutor Karim A.A QC :

Nineteen years ago today, the Rome Statute came into force. It was a Statute of course that created the International Criminal Court.

This Court, in whose premises I now stand, represents an awful testament to the brutality of man and his proclivity, far too often, in far too many places, to bully, to rape, to destroy cultural property and many other crimes against the most innocent and the most vulnerable.

Time and time again, children, women, and men - civilians - what is most precious in terms of our identity are targeted by acts that have no place in the civilized world.

This Court therefore also represents a promise to the future, that tomorrow need not be as bleak, as painful and as tearful as yesterday.

The scope of this Court which unites 123 State Parties represents humanity, the global South and the global North, the East and the West, all religions from the Christian world to the Muslim world. All religions, all people of faith or of no faith, united by the basic principles that unite us which are our essence: our shared humanity.

This Court is yours. These values are ours. And I look forward to your engagement and your support. From that vantage point, from that common endeavor, marching shoulder to shoulder in this constant march of civilization, this day of International Criminal Justice is also a day of unity of humanity.

Thank you so much.
