Kenyan Deputy Prime Minister, Uhuru Kenyatta, has launched The National Alliance (TNA) party and ended weeks of anxiety on his preferred political vehicle, ahead of the forthcoming presidential contest. In a launch marked with glitz and glamour, Kenyatta said the new party will strive to conduct the country's politics differently, with people empowerment at the heart of his presidential bid.
The Gatundu South lawmaker promised an accountable Government that will provide a platform for the youth, who make up the bulk of the Country's population to, amongst other things, derive a livelihood from their talents. The Deputy Prime Minister sidestepped the woes he faces before the International Criminal Court, but called for de-tribalised politics and a peaceful Electoral process as the Kenyan electorate goes to the polls, in the first General Election, under The New Constitution.
