Uganda Airlines officials have failed to appear before Parliament’s Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) to respond to issues arising from a recent committee visit to Entebbe International Airport.

The committee chairperson, Muwada Nkunyingi, had directed officials from Uganda Airlines to appear before COSASE on Monday, August 24, 2026, following last week’s inspection of the airline’s operations at the airport.

The officials were expected to provide additional information and respond to findings made by the committee during the site visit.

However, the Uganda Airlines officials did not appear before the committee and had not, by the time of the meeting, provided an explanation for their absence.

The no-show reportedly raised concern among committee members, with some urging the chairperson to take action against the officials for failing to honour the committee’s summons.

The committee is expected to determine its next course of action as it continues examining issues identified during its inspection of Uganda Airlines and other operations at Entebbe International Airport.

The development comes as COSASE intensifies its scrutiny of public entities and their management of public resources.
