Sudan has severed it's diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), officially designating it an "aggressor state." The Sudanese government accuses the UAE of providing strategic weaponry to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which it alleges have been used in recent drone attacks targeting Port Sudan and other key locations.
This decision follows three days of intense bombardment in Port Sudan, where oil facilities, the Osman Digna airbase, the airport, a power station, and a hotel were targeted.
Sudan's Security and Defence Council, chaired by army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has announced the withdrawal of its embassy and consulate from the UAE and warned of potential retaliatory actions.
Port Sudan airport was targeted on Monday morning and Tuesday. Currently the Airport is temporary closed.
