A Ugandan TikToker, Ibrahim Musana, has been charged with hate speech and unlawful access to personal data belonging to the first son and chief of defense forces (CDF), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, following a video he posted on TikTok.
Musana, who operates online under the alias Pressure 24/7, allegedly shared content on social media that included the photograph of the Chief of Defence Forces and statements claiming that the general was unfit to hold public office. It is alleged that, in a video he posted on his TikTok page, Musana referred to the CDF as a “stupid boy.” Authorities say the content amounted to hate speech and the unlawful use of the general’s personal data.
The video that reportedly led to his arrest shows Musana speaking directly to the camera while referencing Gen. Kainerugaba. The clip also features an image of the army commander and a screenshot of a social media post attributed to him, which Musana discusses while making critical remarks about the CDF’s leadership.
This is not the first time Musana has faced legal trouble over his online commentary. Last year, he was acquitted in a separate case in which he was accused of publishing offensive posts targeting Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, and other prominent figures.
