Dear Professor Muhongo MEM
I am very confident that your nomination back to Ministry of Energy and Minerals, is one of the best choice our Excellency President Magufuli has made, and God willing you will continue to develop this Ministry and achieve excellent results for the Nation at large.

Please Sir look in to the following areas, of potential power generation, ili tuondekewe na uhaba wa umeme: I am constant visitor to India and have seen how coal fired power plants are helping that nation in producing enough power to help run their economies; I had the opportunity to visit some plants in Hyderabad.
1. In Tanzania we have three major area where coal reserves are plentiful; A) MCHUCHUMA/LIGANGA, B) NGAKA AND C) KIWIRA, The reserves are estimated to be 5 billion metric tons , as announced by yourself. This by itself should have made us very self-sufficient in power, rather that very expensive Fuel/Oil based power generation. (Tanzania has 5 billion t of coal reserves)

2. MCHUCHUMA/LIGANGA,/;

This coal reserves are under NDC, and they have gone in to a JV with a Chinese company (Sichuan Hongda Co. Ltd) to build a huge steel plant using the Iron Ore reserves, and the Huge Coal reserves to produce power for the Steel plant and the extra power shall be used in the National Grid. I believe that this project is in progress, however if they had built the power plant first, today we would have had enough Power that would have made todays power cuts things of the past.

3. NGAKA COAL:

This field was awarded to a venture Capitalists Australian company (Tanzania. Tancoal Energy Ltd) in a JV with NDC, the JV was entered during 2008, It is one of the best Coal field with a very high quality of coal and with an estimated reserves of 1 billion MT. This means Ngaka Coal Mine reserves can serve the country for more than 100 years producing 300KW of electricity and others for commercial needs within and outside the country. The company was founded in 2008 and is based in Dar Es Salaam,. operates as a subsidiary of Intra Energy (tanzania) Limited.

Yet up to date This Australian Company has not done much, despite the hardship our country has gone through, we do understand that irony here is that all these important source of coal reserves are under NDC, who do not have knowledge in Power Generation, while these resources should have been under Stamico or MEM period.

4. KIWIRA : Coal Mine and 6MW plant was built in 1988 by the Chinese Government, it is one of our first source of coal. It has the potential to produce upto 600MG of power for the coming 50 years. NSSF had come up with plan to invest in the Power and Mining , and they had a very good project proposal, but did not materialize and may be still under-consideration at Stamico and the MEM.

Mheshimiwa all the above Coal fields combined can produce enough power to be consumed locally and export, I assume we can easily produce upto 2500MW , Combined with what we produce in Hydro na Gas, tungeweza kuwauzia nchi za jirani nasi tukawa tajiri kwa Umeme.

Mheshimiwa I wish To recommend that hata haya Mashirika yetu ya UMMA kama NSSF na mengineyo ni Wazawa, if they have the financial capability and the proper partners than they should not be hindered in participating in the nation building.

Sir I wish you will advise the President to look in the Power projects under NDC, Hapa kuna utata mwingi sana, also in your capacity look in the reasons why NSSF Has been eliminated by Stamico, and Kenyan Company was about to be given the project. We need Power soon, and if NSSF can convince you and your Team that they are capable wape huo mradi, kwani ni shirika la UMMA, na faida haitaingia kwenye mfuko wa Tajiri mmola au wawili, Na hii miradi inavyozidi kechelewesha kwa maslahi ya uongozi mbaya, tunakosa Umeme, Ajira, Uzalishaji nk?..
 
Tatizo lilotokea kwenye makaa ya mawe yameuziwa madalali ambao hawana uwezo wala utaalamu wa kuyaaendeleza. Yarudishe serekalini. Wapewe watu wenye uwezo wa kutengeneza umeme wa makaa ya mawe.

Kila siku unakutana na watu wenye migodi ya makaa ya mawe wanatafuta wawekezai huku ulaya.
 
inawezekana vipi tununue umeme Ethiopia na tuna vyanzo vingi vya kuzalisha umeme, I wish William Ngeleja angerudushwa kwenye post yake cause ni mbunifu wa vyanzo vipya vya umeme
 
Kila anayepewa hii wizara huwa anakuja na story za kimazingaombwe. Haya makaa ya mawe yapo umeme shida juu ya nini?? Jipangeni upya sitisha mikataba yote kwenye makaa ya mawe tufanye wenyewe. Hawa wachina sijui kwa nini mnawaona miungu mtu?? Wamechukua rasilimali zetu zote mnaishia kusign mikataba kila siku isiyo na faida.
 
Hiki kizazi ni cha laana tu, hivi kwa nn tusifumbe macho tukawekeza sh. trillion 4 kwenye sekta ya umeme tukapata MW. 2500-3000 au 5000 kwenye umeme wa makaa ya mawe au Uranium, au kwenye maporomoko ya MTO Rusumo wenye uwezo wa kuzalisha MW. 3000? huu MTO tungechanga na Rwanda tujenge na tupate umeme wa kutosha!!

watanzania tuna laana sana tena ya vizazi 7, nchi ambayo watu hawataki maendeleo endelevu eti kisa miradi yao haitapata biashara??

watu wanaagiza mafuta mazito ya kuzalishia umeme wao na kutuuzia, unadhani hawa watapenda nchi iendelee?

watu wanahujumu miundombinu ya reli ili malori yao yaendelee kufanya biashara, unadhani kuna maendeleo hapo?
 
nilishangazwa sana jana baada ya kuona kule michuzi hospital ya mkoa wa singida ikifungwa solar, wakati matarajio yangu ni kuwa tutakuwa na umeme wa uhakika very soon.
hii inanipa picha kuwa hizi tunazoambiwa na wanasiasa ni porojo tu na suala la umeme wa uhakika tutasubiri sana.

Hapo namba 3 ni 300 KW au 300MW au 3000 MW ?

hizi kampuni za nje zinazowekeza zitakuwa Ni kampuni uchwara za mfukoni za kifisadi kama richmond,hazina uwezo hata chembe wa kuendesha miradi mikubwa
 
Morroco wananunua makaa ya mawe S.A na jumla wanazalisha 5,000MW. sisi makaa ya kuchimba tu yametushinda. ni jambo la kusikitisha na kuaibisha sana kuwa mtanzania.

Sorry ni 300MW, hawa taka 2008 waliahidi kujenga power station, lakini miaka sasa wanaitumia NDC vibaya. If you visit their website you will see that they have always been talking big. They have also floated their company in the stock exchange of Australia using Ngaka coal mine to raise their value , which only benefiting their company only. Nasari the MD of NDC is on their board.

Tanzania's coal reserves can easily produce more than 10000 MW. Kitu CHA kusikitisha ni kuwa NSSF ILIKUJA NA a very good proposal and they did a due diligence on the project, na walikuwa tayari ku produce power of 500MW at Kiwira, 260 MW first phase in 18 months na phase 2 was to follow up immediately after the commisioning of phase 1. This was told to me by kigogo mmoja wa NSSF. Hilo lilinisikitisha sana. Hata Jindal group of India walikuja with a lot of possibilities lakini hawakupewa muda wakusikilizwa. Kuna kampuni ya kenya ambayo inafanya MRADI WA coal fired power plant ya 3000MW LAMU kenya, hao ndio sasa wanaupigania mradi wa Kiwira ili wachukue makaa hayo na kwenda kuzalisha LAMU.

yaani hii nchi inakasirisha sana.zitto kabwe wakati ni mwenyekiti wa kamati alitembelea miradi yote hiyo. alipofika kiwira watu wa NSSF ndiyo walifanya presentation ya kuzalisha 500MW kabla hata hawajakabidhiwa. walikuwa serious sana. nasikia yule aliyetupora kauchukulia mkopo. aibu sana kwa nchi ya watu 50m kuzalisha chini ya 1,500MW.
 
Serikali ililipa lile deni la wale jamaa walioupora mradi. Sijui tunaweza ipata wapi hiyo presentation ya NSSF? It would have helped to open our eyes
 
Muhongo analalamikia madalali, ilhali chama chake ndio kimejaa madalali kibao wa soko huria. Nchi hii kuendelea labda tuwekeze mpaka vichwa vyetu wapatikane watu toka ng'ambo wataofikiri kwa niaba yetu.
