Tanzania rejects EAC single tourist visa plan

We may not join this CoW but the sharing is well known: USD100 per visa whereby the visa issuer will get 40USD and the other two USD30 each, if tourists visit the three countries.
What is important is to know that, we are not an island, we need others to grow. As we have many attractive sites, it is obvious that we may be the country to get the bigger share in revenue collections.

Then it is healthy to go for the whole USD 100

I agree with Utingo for now. In future, it will be difficult to get tourist as island. We are now being proud to mention that we are traditional ally to China because we cooperated when they were still undeveloped. We shared with them during difficult times and now we can enjoy their development vis-a-vis other countries. Possibly, this behavior is equally important to our neighbors.

There is no EAC Tourism without Tanzania, before implementing Single Tourist Visa for all EAC member countries certain conditions must be implemented first, which will benefit a country which will be visited by the guests. Otherwise Kenya will earn more money using single tourist visa......

Tanzania ni premium destination. Strategy yetu ni kulenga watalii wachache wenye hela kubwa sio watalii wengi wenye hela ndogo ndogo. Kwa tunaowalenga sisi gharama ya visa haiwezi kuwa issue kabisa. Mfano tu wa wanaokujaga huku ni: Oprah winfrey, Bill Gates, Roman Abramovich, Mukesh Ambani, Chuck Norris, Jay Z na mkewe, Paul Allen....
Hawa wanakuja na midege yao straight Bongo (super yatch in case of Paul Allen). Wanalala sehemu kama singita grumeti kwa dola 10,000 per day!
Hatuwezi kujishusha kushea visa na nchi kama Rwanda wenye vivutio hafifu kama utalii wa kutembelea mafuvu ya 'genocide' gisozi, na manyani (au ni ngedere?) ya virunga. So you see ni swala la malengo tu.

KQ is charging $200 to connect flights Nairobi to Dar es salaam. This is a whip to tourists forcing them to stay in Kenya.

KLM which is a parent company of KQ, refused to land its cargo flights to Kilimanjaro Airport (on Kenya's directives) so that Tanzania could continue to channel its flowers and green beans through KQ in Nairobi (where our cargo is re-branded as Kenya's)

These are few reasons we don't need to cooperate with them, instead, unfairly compete as they do!

I totally agree with Hon. Sitta. Tanzania has so many tourist attractions but many tourists come to Tanzania through Kenya and then come to Tanzania. In this regard Tanzania will be a looser only getting $30 but Kenya will get $70.
