In Dar, people build good (real) houses without following the city master plan, mainly because of corrupt practices of officials at land ministry. However, this unplanned construction is no where near to the magnitude of your proper slums in Kenya....

(buildings of different values over the area) sasa bwana mzarendo ukiwa na settlements za aina hiyo huwezi ita slums.....
ninayekuambia nimefanya utafiti hapo kibera, na maeneo kadhaa ya afrika..... kwa hiyo ninachoongea ni sahihi...

THIS iS KIBERA, DO YOU SEE THE HIGH RISES ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PICTURE? THAT IS THE NEW KIBERA. The Kenyan government is upgrading the area clearing the slums but what is the Tanzanian government doing to resolve their issues?

Without Indians all the countries in East Africa would be full of slums. Modern buildings in Dar, Nairobi or Kampala are owned by Indians. So there is no point in arguing about which country has more slums.

Conversion of family houses into single room multi family accomodation is common practice in most Tanzanian towns and has somehow slowed slum growth.

Jamani tuwe tunakubali ukweli, kuna maeneo ukipita dar es salaam - unashikwa na imani - baadhi ya maeneo ya mikocheni, vingunguti, na manzese - ni baadhi tu ya maeneo niliyoyaona. Kweli tatizo la makazi bora ni kubwa, sina hakika kama nitaita ni slum ama la!

Wizara ya ujenzi inatakiwa kufikiria kwa haraka sana jinsi ya kujenga ama kutoa malekezo juu ya ujenzi wa makazi tanzania kwa ujumla wake. Ujenzi wa makazi unaendeshwa kiholela sana - bila fikira ya mifumo ya maji wala umeme. Maelekezo yaliyopo yamejikita zaidi kwenye mipaka - na sio aina ya nyumba katika eneo wala miundo mbinu iliyopo.

Nadhani kampuni za ujenzi, zikishirikiana na taasisi ya umma lazima ikae chini na kuweelewa tutaendeleza ama kujenga vipi miji. Wale wataalamu wa mipango miji watumike vizuri

Sikilizeni nyie wakenya na Wa tanzania..

Tofauti yetu sisi kama wananchi wa kawaida ni ndogo sana..umaskini, huduma mbaya za matibabu, malazi etc..

Tofauti yetu kwa aina viongozi tulio nao nayo ni ndogo sana.. wabinafsi, rushwa, wanajilipa zaidi na hawawajibiki kwa wananchi..

Kimsingi kila nchi inatakiwa ishughulikie matatizo yake..ndio tuanze kuongelea muungano..

So what? Just because majority of Indians live in rented government houses (which I doubt), it does not necessarily mean most modern buildings are not owned by Indians. There is an error in your logic.
