I highly doubt you and I will live long enough to see countries taken over by robots like in some Hollywood movies.

We are very far from that scenario.

However, should a body part be available and is proven to be superior than mine, I would be more than willing to exchange it. The benefits are obvious and far outweigh the risks.

Imagine enjoying a glass of whiskey and a cigar without having to worry about mouth cancer and scirrosis of the liver!

And that's just one of the benefits.

He has a great team on his side to push with his project.

However, I still think he's still far from achieving his goals.

Once scientists discover how our brains function, the sky will be the limit as to how much we can do with AI.

We know very little how the nerve system work and how they send the messages to the brain. As a result, doctors can't treat people who damaged their spinal cords from accidents or who suffer from Celebral Palsy.

Neurology and robotics will advance by then, but not enough to make a robot take our place.
Humans are still the most sophisticated mammals in the world, and will remain so for the foreseeable future.


He will probably get a very sophisticated robot than we have right now. That's it.

That's my 2 cents.

Making a robot walk, answer simple questions or hug you is not the same as having the capability to show raw and sophisticated state of emotions like hugging your loved ones goodbye or even expressing different state of anger.

Besides, transfer of his personality to an android will still require him to "download" his brain to the avatar. I don't see that happening that soon.
Without that capability, it can't function like us. It can't be us.

It will be a great collaboration of AI and robotics, but not enough to make us immortals I think.

It will be interesting to see his prototype though.
