MARCA | Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid’s FIFA bans for 2 transfer windows are said to be around the corner as their appeals are set to be rejected.
According to Spanish sources, both Madrid and Atleti “are not in an optimistic mood” about the outcome of their appeals after the 2 clubs were found to have breached legislation regarding the signing of international minors back in January.
Once FIFA’s Appeals Committee make its ruling public, however, Madrid and Atletico will both ask the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for an injunction, which is expected to be granted for a maximum of 5days.
CAS are then likely to uphold the bans, although there will be a subsequent deadline for appeals of up to six months after its decision, allowing Los Blancos and their arch-rivals to continue signing players this summer and possibly next January. #HalaMadrid
Real Madrid have not released an official statement to confirm, but Marco Asensio has extended his contract by 1 extra year, which means he will now be tied to the club until June 2022.
Zinedine Zidane has requested that the Spanish Under-21s winger stays on and features as part of the first team squad for the new season and the club has consented.
And not only that, they have also awarded the player a pay rise following his amazing 1st season in La Liga with Espanyol. [Source AS]
Alex Craninx, the backup goalkeeper for Real Madrid Castilla, is the latest youth teamer to link up with Zinedine Zidane's first team squad for their summer tour.
The young Belgian shot stopper, who has already represented his country at various youth levels, arrived at Real in 2011 and has a contract with Los Blancos until 2018.
