Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane will be without captain Sergio Ramos for Sunday’s La Liga clash with Sporting Gijón.

As has been the case throughout the week, Ramos did work away from the group on Saturday morning, remaining in the gym at Ciudad Real Madrid.

With the defender failing to make the matchday 20 clash, Raphael Varane will take his place in the Madrid backline.

Ramos picked up an injury in his soleus muscle against Deportivo La Coruña last weekend, and was forced off at half time of the win.

He is the only absentee for Zidane, who will have 22 players available for squad selection.
