The next task for Real Madrid is to improve the contract of Isco [@nuevobernabeu].

 

The biggest reason why Real Madrid bought Inter's Mateo Kovaćič explained really well by Elconfidecial :

Last season was a disaster after Modric got injured. Isco played well in place of Luka but suffered himself. Florentino didn't want to go through another season without a direct replacement for Modric and therefore got Kovacic.

Kovacic has a similar profile to that of Modric but with a different in his positional development. The total will be around €30m spent by Real Madrid for Kovacic who hasn't been brought in as a starter.. yet.
