Professor PLO Lumumba left the stage at a Kisumu conference after being asked to pause his speech for the late arrival of Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o.
The incident occurred during the 18th TICH Annual Scientific Congress at Mama Grace Onyango Social Hall, where Lumumba was speaking about challenges facing Africa’s medical research sector.
When an announcer requested he stop to welcome the governor, Lumumba questioned whether protocol mattered more than substance, calling it “part of the African problem.” He criticised the disruption, then paused his talk and stepped down from the stage.
