Prof Ken Edwards famous by the name of Joshua Mkhululi who died March 18 will be buried today (Saturday, March 28 ) at a clan cemetery in Kijenge, east of the Arusha municipality.
His Wife Mama Evaline Laizer told the Arusha Times that Prof. Mkhululi has been suffering from kidney problems since February this year. She said when he became ill he never left his home until he passed away last week.
Prof. Mkhululi who was instrumental in establishing the University of Dar es Salaam Business School (UDBS) was the Faculty?s first dean. He was also among the think tanks who established the Arusha Institute of Accountancy located in Njiro area. He became the institute?s principal soon after its establishment.
Prof. Mukhululi joined the University of Dar es Salaam in 1976 after graduating from California State University and Stanford Graduate School of Business, one of the top flight universities in the United States.
At the time of his death Prof. Mkhululi was in his final stages of registering a university under the name of University of African Union to be located at the same venue as his home in Njiro area in the Arusha municipality.
Before retiring he had worked in Ethiopia with the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), and the Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI).
He was born in Jamaica on January 22, 1945. He leaves behind a widow, four daughters and two sons.
