Trying to sound presidential, Bush instead came off like a confused former governor

Likely presidential candidate Jeb Bush delivered a nervous, uncertain speech on national security Thursday, full of errors and confusion...

Bush’s clunky, rushed delivery paled in comparison to the hazy facts in the speech and vague answers he gave during a Q&A session following his remarks.

Speaking of the extremist group based in Nigeria that has killed thousands of civilians, Bush referred to Boko Haram as “Beau-coup Haram.” Bush also referred to Iraq when he meant to refer to Iran.

Further, Bush misrepresented the strength of ISIS, saying they have some 200,000 men, which is far greater than U.S. intelligence community’s estimates. Last week National Counterterrorism Center Director Nicholas Rasmussen pegged the fighting strength of ISIS at between 20,000 and 31,500...

Referring to the leader of the so-called Islamic State, Bush referred to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as “the guy that’s the supreme leader or whatever his new title is—head of the caliphate.”

...for all his bluster about being different from his brother and father, Bush didn't really espouse a particularly unique worldview.

Democrat leaning media will chew him into pieces if he ever gets Republican nod for the Presidential candidacy.

mkuu, Jeb' s last name might not be big ol' deal, when you look at current President's ratings, you can tell how much people are fed up!, they might go for anything non democratic!, and if democrats don't line their ducks right, their ship's going down.
And him being a moderate, might win him some swing states, undecided et al!
As much as Democrats are more likely to vote for the moderate candidates from Republican party but Bush is not the one they might vote for given his elder brother's disastrous foreign policy (Iraq war) and economic turmoil he left behind, The name Bush will remind them (Democrats) the horror they went through 6 years ago. They will keeping shuddering whenever they see the name 'Bush'.
As for Conservatives, they will never vote for Jeb.To them, voting for Jeb is tantamount to voting for Obama's third term.Conservatives on education are for the choice while Jeb is for the common core,Conservatives are against amnesty on illegal immigrants while Jeb is for amnesty. According to Conservatives, Jeb worldviews are much closer to the liberals (Democrats) than to them that's why they call him a RINO (Republican In Name Only).Mind you,Conservatives make a big voter base in America. This is the reason why Mac Cain and Romney lost respectively, they lost because they failed to appeal to the base (Conservative voters).

Hahaa!, ati I want to spawn disasters of my own, in spots where his brother missed...lol!
Anti Bushes Repubs will start going after him soon, and as 2016 nears Dems will be full force on him, and by the time it's primaries?!, he's going to be WOUNDED.
All this because his last name is BUSH!

"...Bush also referred to Iraq when he meant to refer to Iran..."

Did he talk about the "Grecians" and the "Nation of Africa" yet?

This one was as funny as the Chimp ever gave us: "...Referring to the leader of the so-called Islamic State, Bush referred to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as "the guy that's the supreme leader or whatever his new title is-head of the caliphate." ..."

When George was interviewed on foreign policy during his 2000 campaign, he couldn't name leaders either.

Hiller asked: "Can you name the president of Chechnya?"

"No, can you?" Bush replied.

If this is the best the GOP has to offer for 2016 we'll be inaugurating a Democrat in 2017.

TEKNOLOJIA nailed it on Jeb and the whole repub base hapo juu, One thing I like about all things politics on that side of the world is that, it's so unpredictable!, it doesn't matter how poised a candidate is, she/he can have a great start in the beginning but end up with an ugly end, that kind of 'game' keep someone on their toes so mtu hachezi!, cause they know if they screw up somewhere, they're getting screwed as well!, same with the Bushes.
And now Jeb has to carry his dad and brother's crosses!
