Police have arrested Vincent Nsamba, alias Arnold, in connection with the death of veteran Afrigo Band musician Moses Matovu following an early morning confrontation in Kampala.
Nsamba was arrested at Yesu Amara in Nansana, Wakiso District. He is reportedly a security guard attached to SG4.
According to the police brief, Matovu went to the home of Rose Tumusime at about 5:30am on Thursday after attending a farewell function at Sheraton Gardens in Kampala.
Police allege that Nsamba, who is reportedly Tumusime’s boyfriend, encountered the two as they were leaving the house and questioned Matovu about his relationship with her.
The suspect allegedly attacked and punched both Matovu and Tumusime. Matovu sustained serious injuries and began bleeding heavily before he was taken to Kibuli Hospital by a boda boda rider, where he later died.
Tumusime was subsequently arrested and reportedly led detectives to Nsamba, who is now being treated as the prime suspect. The case was registered at Kabalagala Police Station under CRB 1072/2026.
Police are continuing investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the assault and Matovu’s death.
