Maj. Gen. Christopher Ddamulira, the Director of Crime Intelligence at the Uganda Police Force, has warned members of the public against misusing security details and driving unmarked vehicles, saying those involved in such practices will face the law.
Speaking to UBC TV on the matter, Maj. Gen. Ddamulira emphasized that no individual is above the law and that security agencies are closely monitoring the misuse of security escorts, sirens, and unmarked vehicles by civilians who attempt to present themselves as security personnel or government officials.
“Nobody in this country is above the Law, whoever is involved in crime will be brought to book,” Maj. Gen. Ddamulira said.

He noted that some individuals illegally use security escorts and unmarked vehicles to intimidate members of the public, evade traffic regulations, or engage in criminal activities while pretending to be security operatives. He warned that such actions are illegal and undermine national security and public trust in law enforcement agencies.
He further added that operations are ongoing to crack down on individuals misusing security equipment and vehicles, adding that anyone found impersonating security personnel or unlawfully using security privileges will be arrested and prosecuted.
He also urged the public to report individuals who misuse security escorts, drive suspicious unmarked vehicles, or impersonate security officers, stressing that maintaining law and order is the responsibility of both security agencies and the public.
