Kin Kariisa’s Next Media has completed the acquisition of 100% of Capital Radio, taking full ownership of one of Uganda's most established radio groups in a move that significantly expands its presence in the country's media industry.

The acquisition comes less than a month after the two companies publicly described the arrangement as a "strategic collaboration." The completed transaction now brings Capital FM, Beat FM and KIIS 100.9 FM under the Next Media umbrella.

The deal strengthens Next Media's multimedia portfolio, which already includes television, radio and digital platforms, further cementing its position as one of Uganda's largest media houses.

The acquisition also follows Capital Radio's own expansion less than three years ago, when it acquired Hot100 FM, adding another station to its broadcast portfolio.

With the latest transaction, Next Media gains control of several well established radio brands with audiences across different demographics, broadening its reach in Uganda's competitive broadcasting sector.

While the companies have not publicly disclosed the financial details of the acquisition, the move is expected to reshape Uganda's media landscape by consolidating some of the country's most recognizable radio stations under a single media group.
