If the black boxes are found will we learn everything about flight MH370?
While finding the black box data recorders would go a long way into helping piece together exactly what happened to the stricken flight, it won't likely give us the whole story.
The recorders only keep the last two hours of cockpit dialogue and, considering the plane is suggested to have flown for over seven hours after last contact, there could well be a long period that will be lost forever.
Despite the battery almost certainly being dead it won't have any effect on the data stored.
Even under pressure from deep water data has been known to last years after the batteries have died.
