To avoid seeing nudity on Instagram, turn on the Nudity protection feature for direct messages and enable the Sensitive Content Control to "Less" for recommended content on the platform. For your Instagram Direct Messages
This feature blurs photos that may contain nudity in your chats.
Go to your profile by tapping your profile picture in the bottom right.
Tap the Menu icon (three lines) in the top right.
Tap Messages and story replies.
Tap Nudity protection.
Tap the toggle to turn it on.
For your Instagram Feed and Explore Page
This feature reduces sensitive content, including adult content, in your recommendations.
Go to your profile and tap the Menu icon.
Tap Settings (or Settings and Privacy).
Search for and tap Sensitive Content Control.
Select Less to minimize your exposure to potentially upsetting or offensive content.
Note: Teen accounts are set to "See less" by default, and you may need parental permission to change this setting, according to this source.
