Tanzania is among the countries in Africa with the fastest economic growth recording the highest economic growth in 2013 of up to 7.3 percent, according to Africa Development Bank, with the major drivers of the economy are information and communications, construction, and manufacturing.
The growth of the ICT sector in Tanzania has been attributed, in a large part to the growth of mobile technology sector. Mobile technology has been among the fastest growing technologies in Tanzania. According to Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA), by September 2015, Tanzania had more than 36 million mobile subscribers with the market penetration rate at 77%.
