Shakhtar Donetsk advanced to the Champions League quarterfinals for the first time in its history, beating 10-man AS Roma 3-0 after goals from Tomas Huebschmann, Willian and Eduardo da Silva.
The Ukrainian club went through 6-2 on aggregate after winning 3-2 in Rome in the first leg.

Huebschmann gave Shakhtar the lead on a freezing evening in the 18th minute, flicking the ball into the net from Willian's cross.
Roma defender Philippe Mexes was sent off in the 41st after receiving two yellow cards from World Cup final referee Howard Webb for fouls as Luiz Adriano looked to break away. It was the 10th red card of the Frenchman's career.
''The dismissal of Mexes changed the game,'' Roma coach Vincenzo Montella said.
Willian's curled shot in the 58th and a neat finish from Eduardo in the 87th rounded off an impressive victory for Shakhtar.
''We had a very good preparation for this match,'' Shakhtar coach Mircea Lucescu said. ''We were well organized and after we've scored the first goal, Roma didn't exist for us anymore. We won the match because we deserved it.''
Trailing 1-0 on the night and 4-2 overall against a team that hasn't lost at home for more than two years, Roma needed to take all of its opportunities.
However, Roma missed a penalty in the 27th after Marco Borriello had been pulled down by Henrikh Mkhitaryan as the ball was crossed from a corner. Borriello took the penalty himself but his shot was stopped by goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov's dive to his left.

Roma started the match brightly, with Borriello getting into some attacking good positions. But it was Shakhtar that made it count.
Willian sent in a cross that Huebschmann flicked past the defense and goalkeeper, the ball landing in the far corner of the net.
Roma, now needing three goals to win, continued to press, but Shakhtar looked dangerous on the break with its quick forwards.
Shakhtar continued to break with menace with its fullbacks pushing high up the pitch to add width.
After Mexes was dismissed, Roma could have been down to nine men just before halftime when captain Daniele De Rossi pushed a forearm into Dario Srna's face, but the referee appeared not to see the incident.
Shakhtar put the result beyond doubt when a corner found Willian in space just inside the area, and he curled a half-volley into the far corner.
The match became increasingly ill-tempered as a frustrated Roma team fouled Shakhtar's players who were passing the ball confidently.
Eduardo sealed the victory after intercepting a poor back-pass and sliding the ball into the back of the net.

William Gallas admits Tottenham do not want to face Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Gallas was one the heroes for Spurs on Wednesday night as he performed brilliantly at the heart of their defence as they claimed a goalless draw with AC Milan.

After a 1-0 win at the San Siro in the first leg, courtesy of Peter Crouch's goal, the draw was enough for Spurs to book their place in the last eight.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp claimed his side could make it through to the final at Wembley on May 28, but Gallas is unsure how far the team can go in the competition.
"Nobody knows how far we can go, not even us," he said.
"We know we have the quality to beat any team but now we have to understand the Champions League is not easy.
"All the players now know we have the quality so we are strong. Everybody feels the group is very strong. It's good for the future."
After seeing Barcelona knock out Arsenal with a football master class at the Nou Camp on Tuesday night, Gallas admits his side will struggle to make it to Wembley if they are paired with the Catalan giants in next week's draw.

"I won't say we want to play against a small team - but we don't want to play against Barcelona," he added.
"They are the best team in the world."
Meanwhile Gallas has thanked Tottenham for giving him the chance to prove his doubters wrong this season.
Gallas was criticised by Arsenal's fans for leaving the Gunners for bitter rivals Spurs at the end of last season.
"When I signed, I just wanted to play football and show who I am," said the Frenchman. "Everybody judged me because I didn't have a good World Cup and I was criticised because I was injured last year.
"If I left Arsenal, it was for some reason. I won't say why now. The most important (thing) for me was to stay in London for my family and to play in the Champions League - Tottenham gave me that opportunity."
Spurs keeper Heuerelho Gomes admitted the club cannot get too carried away and need to retain their focus for the remainder of the campaign.
"It was brilliant for us, great for the club and fans, and now we have to move on," he said.
"We have big games coming up and we have to wait to see who we get into the quarter-finals. It was not easy, but we deserved to win."

Harry Redknapp lauded Tottenham and their "impossible dream" after they drew 0-0 with AC Milan to reach the Champions League quarter-finals.
Spurs managed to keep out the Italian giants on a nervy evening in north London to reach the last eight having taken a 1-0 lead from the first leg thanks to Peter Crouch's strike.

Redknapp's team have enjoyed a remarkable debut season in the competition having beaten reigning champions Inter Milan in the group stages before seeing off the seven-time European champions over two hard-fought legs.
The change is a remarkable turnaround from two and a half years ago when Redknapp took over with Spurs rooted to the bottom of the Barclays Premier League table.
He now faces the mouth-watering prospect of his side drawing a huge showdown with the likes of Real Madrid or Barcelona in the next stage next month.
"This is an impossible dream that we have achieved so far," he said.
"Two years ago if you would have said that we would have made it to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, I would have thought you were crazy.
"It's our first year in the club's history we have ever made Champions League football so that was a fantastic achievement to have won our group and to do what we have done against AC Milan.
"We have beaten AC Milan over two legs with two clean sheets and won our group, which was the hardest of the lot."
Spurs looked nervous at times, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho both coming close to grabbing a vital away goal for the Rossoneri.

With Gareth Bale forced to settle for a place on the bench, other players such as Heurelho Gomes, Sandro and Michael Dawson shone and Redknapp was proud of his team's performance.
"It was always going to be nervy night," Redknapp said.
"If you think you are going to smash AC Milan out of sight then obviously you haven't been watching football over the last few years.
"Sandro was immense in midfield, for a young lad with limited experience of the Champions League.
"We defended for our lives and the keeper did well for us too."
Redknapp admits Spurs fans will already dreaming of their team securing a place in the final at Wembley in two months' time.
The 64-year-old concedes that his side could make the final but is wary of drawing Barcelona in the next round after they produced a football master class to see off Arsenal.
"I don't know how far we can go," the Spurs boss said.
"I thought it was an amazing performance from Barcelona to beat a team who plays who are probably the best passing team in league.
"To make them look so ordinary was amazing.
"It will be difficult for anyone to beat Barcelona.
"They are an amazing team, but who knows.
"We are in the last eight and we have done well to get where we are and we want to stay in this competition and go as far as we can."
Redknapp was quick to quash any notion that he and has team would be celebrating the victory hard though, saying: "I am not getting too carried away. I'm just looking forward to getting home and having a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich and taking the dogs out.
"It's a great night for Tottenham but we are not going to celebrate. The players are coming in for a warm down tomorrow and they are not going to have much time to celebrate."
Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri was disappointed to see his team fall at the last-16 stage.
"We played a good game, all we could have expected," he said.
"We didn't score and we got punished.
"It leaves a bitter taste."

Raul hoping to avoid Real tie

Schalke's Raul would prefer to avoid Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals after helping his side to victory against Valencia.
Raul helped Schalke dump Primera Division side Valencia out at the last-16 stage on Wednesday night, winning the second leg at home 3-1 for a 4-2 aggregate victory.

"I'm very happy. For Schalke to be in the quarters is a very important step. Now we can enjoy two more games against a great opponent because, whoever it is, they will be among the best in Europe. We will try to make it difficult for them and dream of the semi-finals," Raul said in Marca.
Wednesday night's success means Schalke join Barcelona, Tottenham and Shakhtar Donetsk in the next round, with the final four places to be decided next week.
Among those hoping to progress through to the quarter-finals are Raul's old side Madrid, who are currently locked at 1-1 with Lyon following the first leg in France, but the veteran hitman admits he would rather not face the team he represented for over 15 years before moving to Germany last summer.
"I would prefer for us not to face any Spanish team. I don't want Madrid because it would be too emotional to return to the Santiago Bernabeu wearing another shirt," said the 33-year-old, who won the Champions League three times with the Spanish giants but was also part of the Madrid side that has failed to get beyond the last 16 in six successive campaigns.
He added: "For me it's a special competition. I've gone many years without getting past the last 16 and to be in the quarters will be special. We are performing at a great level in the cup competitions and where we haven't been consistent is in the Bundesliga.
"Hopefully we can achieve two or three wins so as not to suffer towards the end of the season."
Schalke are currently 10th in the Bundesliga, five points above the bottom three.
