This is inside the apartheid museum, ukiitembelea hii yote unaweza kulia kama una roho nyepesi. Kali mwanzo kwenye geti ya kuingilia kuna entrance imeandikwa weusi huku nyingine weupe huku. I betcha for a new generation guy this by itself is a shocker, sasa hebu imagine ilivyokuwa real. Pia naona wamempa heshima kubwa kweli maana humu huwa hakuruhusiwi kupiga picha.

michelle.jpg ONE of the world's greatest living political figures has met the US first lady. Michelle Obama paid a surprise visit to Nelson Mandela, whose legacy is one of the main themes of a week-long visit to southern Africa. Mrs Obama, on a tour with her daughters and mother, was viewing archives at Johannesburg's Nelson Mandela Foundation, which chronicles his years as a political prisoner, when she received a surprise personal invitation to visit South Africa's first black president.
The hero of the fight against white minority rule is frail and rarely receives visitors. He has not been seen in public since his release from hospital in January after a two-day stay with an acute respiratory infection.
Mr Mandela, 93 next month, is reportedly a great fan of President Barack Obama. They met when Mr Obama visited Africa as a senator in 2006. A mobile phone photograph of the two men taken at that time hangs in Mr Mandela's office.

It was Mrs Obama's first meeting with the former president and the first day of her week-long trip to South Africa and Botswana.

The trip, only her second official solo visit abroad since her husband was elected in 2009, is intended to champion youth leadership and women's issues.
Mr Mandela's wife, Graca Machel, guided the Obama party through an exhibit at the Mandela Foundation of his photos and journals, in which he meticulously drafted letters, as well as more mundane notes on his weight and daily routine.
"After leaving here, she proceeded to make a brief courtesy call on former president Mandela," Achmat Dangor, the head of the foundation, said, describing Mrs Obama as a "a lovely woman without any airs".
Mr Mandela's legacy in the battle for South African democracy and human rights defines much of Mrs Obama's visit.
After leaving his home in the leafy Houghton neighbourhood, the Obama party, which includes a niece and a nephew, visited the Apartheid Museum. Overnight, Mrs Obama was due to visit the memorial for Hector Pieterson - a 12-year-old boy killed during the Soweto uprising in 1976.
She then planned to address community leaders at the Regina Mundi church in Soweto, a focal point of political gatherings during the struggle.
She is also scheduled to visit Robben Island to see the tiny cell where Mr Mandela spent 18 years of his 27-year sentence.
She will then meet Nobel Peace Prize laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu in Cape Town, before going to Botswana for a two-day safari.
