Nyani Ngabu, perhaps those whom you are trying to advise may not be expected to heed to the good advice you have just suggested to them for their political good, because, the guys know only one way of doing opposition politics: interpersonal political confrontation, period! I personally have tended to related our opposition with a story of 'born again troupe' I was once narrated about when I was a child. That during the 1940s, a troupe of born again travelling in an open lorry, were all the way praising Jesus in total disregard of the threat of lionesses in the jungle their lorry was passing through. That even when a convoy of hungry lionesses started attacking and preying on the first person the born again cared nothing but continued praising the Lord - "Tumtendeleze Yesu....". The lionesses continued preying on each and everyone until the last person realised the threat was real. Bet who narrated the story to villagers. These guys will learn the hard way.

How about you become the opposition and implement all these brilliant ideas? Instead of waiting for “these guys to learn the hard way”, you can do it yourself. Why waste time waiting for others to do it for you? I bet nobody is going to do it for you. You can be the change you want to see.

You are assuming that Magufuli despise the status quo. Nothing shows that he actually does. I think he has singlehandedly done more than his predecessors to perpetuate the status quo. How do you disrupt the status quo through presiding over a despotic government? How do you disrupt the status quo through censorship, and suppression of the media and freedom of expression?How do you disrupt the status quo through intimidation and reduction of the space for creativity (all by issuing directives)? How do you disrupt the status quo without an institutional approach?
