The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) security team, working with police, has arrested Lira City Senior Inspector of Schools Tom Ronald Omara over allegations of extorting money from headteachers.

Omara was arrested on Sunday alongside Lira City bar proprietor Ambrose Okot, who is accused of being his accomplice.

The two allegedly posed as UNEB Head of Legal and Inspectorate of Government (IGG) officials to obtain money from headteachers.

Before being transferred to Kampala, the suspects were presented to Assistant Town Clerk Rebecca Acen, who handed them over to police for further investigations.
