Je ulishawahi kusikia sherehe za Siku ya Pi (π) ? Ikiwa bado, basi wengi wanajua kuhusu siku hii muhimu isipokuwa wewe tu!

Siku ya Pi (Pi Day) ilianzishwa rasmi mwaka 1988 kwa ajili ya unyeti wa hii 'mathematical constant π (Pi) pamoja na kumbukumbu ya kuzaliwa kwa gwiji la Phizikia, Albert Einstein (14 March, 1879)


Sherehe hizi ufanyika kila tarehe 14 ya mwezi March kila mwaka hasa hasa kwa nchi zilizoendelea. Kwanini basi iwe 14 March? Hii inatokana na umuhimu wa tarakimu tatu za mwanzo ktk expression ya π: yaani 3, 1 na 4 (Pi = 22/7 = 3.14… kwa maana ya uwiano wa mzingo wa duara na kipenyo chake). Chukua duara lolote lile, hata liwe na ukubwa kiasi gani; pima mzingo wake pamoja na diameter yake, ratio ya hizi parameter mbili utaishia na jibu hili: 3.1415926535..

pi is one of the most extremely useful and fundamental quantities we know of. It is defined as the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter (or it area to the square of its radius).

It can obviously be used to calculate:

- the circumference of a circle (2*pi*R)
- the area of a circle (pi*R^2)

Let's look at some more interesting facts about pi.

It is an irrational number, which means that its value cannot be expressed exactly as a fraction (when the numerator and denominator are integers).

It has an infinite number of non-repeating digits.

It is a transcendental number. This means that no sequence of algebraic operations using integers (powers, roots, sums, etc.) can be equal to its value.

Throughout the history of mathematics, there has been much effort to determine π more accurately and to understand its nature; fascination with the number has even carried over into non-mathematical culture.

EVERYDAY USE
pi it appears in all sorts of calculations for physics, engineering, electrical systems. The double-helix is DNA revolves around pi. Pi is in the rainbow, the pupil of the eye, and when a raindrop falls into water pi emerges in the spreading rings. It appears in colors and in music. It is also used in probability and statistics.

It also appears when calculating the number of deaths in a population.

Interestingly, the ratio between the actual length of a river and its straight-line from source to mouth length tends to approach pi (Einstein was the one to show this).

The current record for the decimal expansion of π, if verified, stands at 5 trillion digits.

The Guinness-recognized record for remembered digits of π is 67,890 digits, held by Lu Chao, a 24-year-old graduate student from China. It took him 24 hours and 4 minutes to recite to the 67,890th decimal place of π without an error.

Akira Haraguchi, a retired Japanese engineer, claimed to have recited 100,000 decimal places but this has yet to be verified by Guinness.

So as you can see, pi turns up in MANY places. To summarize some everyday uses:

1) electrical engineers used pi to solve problems for electrical applications
2) statisticians use pi to track population dynamics
3) medicine benefits from pi when studying the structure of the eye
4) biochemists see pi when trying to understand the structure/function of DNA
5) physicists looking into the behavior of fluid ripples see pi and use it in their calculations
6) clock designers use pi when designing pendulums for clocks
7) aircraft designers use it to calculate areas of the skin of the aircraft
8) signal processing and spectrum analysis (finding out what frequencies are in the wave you are using) uses pi since the fundamental period of a sine wave is 2*pi.
9) Navigation, such as global positioning (GPS)

the list goes....have fun searching other uses. I would say that pi (along with the exponential term e) is the most useful constant we know of. (The fine-structure constant is also up there).

Actually pie value is not exactly 22/7 or 3.14 therefrom in decimal form.
When we draw a circle with certain radius and measure the circumference with some intelligent technique and get the ratio of the circumference to its diameter we will be getting a value in which there is no end of the decimal,,It would continue to any extent even with thousands of decimal places. And the beauty is it never ends.....Such an interesting value is got. That is pie. Some people have made Guinness record in writing those decimal values without any miss. Seems an Indian has succeeded in doing so.
In trigonometry this pie has got unit known to be radian. Just for convenience man has brought the degree concept for easy manipulation. So pie equals to 180 degree in trigonometry calcualtions.

so niki dilute kwa 100 vol za maji napata 18.5 hcl na 81.5% za water.
niki dilute tena na 100 napata 9.25 hcl na 90.75%water
the diference btn 9.25 and 8% equals to 1.25. nikasema niki times 2 ni sawa na 2.5 so nikasema nikitumia 225ml of distilled water kwenye 100ml of hcl nitapata 8% dil soln.

sijui kama niko sawa as ubongo umegoma kabisa kuwaza na nimekuwa exhausted sana na haya makitu. ningefurah kama ningepata jibu mapema.
