National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate James Leku Pilli has been declared the elected Member of Parliament for Adjumani West Constituency after securing 12,423 votes in Thursday’s parliamentary by-election.
Independent candidate Gasper Draga obtained 2,559 votes, according to the final results announced by the Electoral Commission at Adjumani District Council Hall.
Adjumani Electoral District Returning Officer Akao Eunice Christine formally declared Leku Pilli elected at 8:31pm after tallying results from all 114 polling stations.
In the official Return Form for Transmission of Results, the Returning Officer declared Leku Pilli the candidate who obtained the largest number of votes.
