Dear Friends,
Ni lazima tuelewe kwamba knowledge is not wisdom. One can have knowledge, but one may not have the wisdom to apply that knowledge. One needs both knowledge and wisdom. This is the only way that a person can live well.
I met some one yesterday from The United States who was telling me that the Obama is quite a clever person, that he writes all his speeches himself, and then sends them to his speech writer for polishing. And,indeed, there are many people who are saying that Obama is very much a thinker,an astute person.
Now how do we get wisdom, since wisdom seems to be such a wonderful thing? You can get knowledge by reading a book. But how can you get wisdom? What is it that you have to do to get wisdom?
In order to get wisdom, you do nothing. After you have read the book, the book of wisdom, maybe, and after you have put aside the book, then,as you think about the things that you have read, wisdom will naturally arise.
This is not to say that you will be wise by not reading books,or by not doing anything to acquire knowledge. But what is called wisdom,is that act of putting aside the book, and doing reflection,on what you have read or heard.
