The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has cautioned prospective students and the public against fraudsters circulating fake admission letters in an attempt to con unsuspecting applicants.
In a public advisory, the institution warned that scammers are distributing forged admission documents and falsely claiming to facilitate admissions into KMTC programmes. The college stressed that all admission letters are issued exclusively through its official channels and urged applicants to verify any communication before acting on it.
The warning comes just days after the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) dismissed a fake notice circulating on social media claiming that applications for KMTC student loans for the 2026/2027 academic year had opened. HELB clarified that the notice was fraudulent and urged students to rely only on information published through its official communication platforms.
KMTC advised applicants not to make payments or share personal information with individuals claiming they can secure admission or expedite the issuance of admission letters. The institution reiterated that it does not send admission letters through WhatsApp, Gmail or any unofficial platforms and urged applicants to report suspicious messages to the relevant authorities.
The college encouraged all prospective students to access admission information only through the official KMTC admissions portal and verified communication channels. It also reminded applicants to remain vigilant as fraudsters continue targeting students during the admission period.
