What are steps to follow

Join the National Service through volunteering, it's a two years programme, a course duration is 6months there after you continue serving your country for other 18 months (6 months plus 18 months equals to two years).

Caution: the National Service can't employ anybody, other government institutions like TPDF, Police force, Immigration dept, Fire brigade, Prison service, TISS and PCCB can employ you when they have vacancies, if those institutions don't have vacancies during your two years in the National Service it's obvious that you'll be returned home, you'll not be employed.

More than 95% of youngmen who join the National Service aim at joining the TPDF, just remember TPDF can't employ all Service men from NS.

Lastly keep in mind that things are not easy, it's very difficult even to join the National Service, alot of youngmen want to join, start to think who you know from the Authorities? If no body then your chance of joining the NS decreases by more than 50% (am not threatening you, grab this point).
