Is Magufuli, not Mugabe, the most educated African President?

It has always been said that President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe is among the most educated Presidents in the world. In Tanzania, the newly elected President, Dr. Pombe Magufuli may soon claim the spot as the most Educated President in Africa if not the world.

He's a holder of a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Dar-es-Salaam, having earned his Bachelor's Degree from the same University. He has at least seven scientific publications to his name.

Magufuli was born on October 29th 1959. He joined the ruling political party of CCM in 1977 slowly growing through the ranks to become a Member of Parliament in 1995 till 2010. In 1995, he served as the Deputy Minister for works and MP for Biharamulo East Constituency. Before his election as the CCM flag bearer, he'd been the Minister for Works and MP for Chato constituency.

Many know him as a man aggressive for results, honest and full of integrity. He becomes the fifth President of Tanzania replacing Jakaya Kikwete who has been President for 10 years. Magufuli defeated Edward Lowassa, a former Prime Minister who crossed from CCM to the opposition party of CHADEMA.

May be yes, May be no because their levels of education are different. Mugabe has more than one bachelor degree whilst Magufuli has a doctorate degree on specific fields. Mugabe is vilified because he refused to bend for the oppressor, however the truth will prevail even after his death. Pombe Magufuli has an ideal way of governance and he is a great leader, but unfortunately he is a good man in the land of evil. I mean a good man in Africa that did not add up. He must be careful because he's surrounded by enemies(within and outside CCM). Africa is continent that I can say is far from been good. Because slavery is still in existence. But instead of we been chained and taken away in a ship to a foreign land, we are been enslaved in our own land by the west through some Africans among us using the greed in us which is the greatest asset of an average Africans. He must be careful again and again..

The relation btwn Kenya and the apartheid regime didnt go beyond trade, that fact is well documented- so did such countries as India, Japan, US, Britain etc.
Kenya was in a precarious position then, given that all it's potential trading partners within Africa were either embroiled in a civil war or had adopted the eastern political ideologies that were incompatible with the one it stood for, and which it knew were defective.

FYI Kenya support went far beyond trade, in 1981 Moi made a very foolish decision of supporting the Boers in Seychelles and hoping that they would land in Zanzibar. We all know how it ended.

Too early indeed. It reminds me when our 3rd president, Mwai Kibaki was first sworn into office. Everybody thot he was the panacea to all the problems that were besetting Kenya then, namely: insecurity, corruption, tribalism, poor economy etc.
He was far more educated than the previous heads of state.

Two years down the line, the Kenyan society was disillusioned!

Correction, it wasnt really the Boers that raided the archipellago, it was a group of exiled seychellois, that was opposed to the repressive, Tanzania-backed socialist regime that was in place there.

Kenya was pro-capitalism, it therefore was in favor of that group, even though it was trained in SA.
Remember, Kenya did welcome Idi Amin's ascend to power in Uganda for similar reasons. It preferred to have neighbors that shared similar political ideology as its own.

Kenya's support for the invaders was there4 purely for ideological reasons, it wasnt in support for the apartheid regime.
