Is God evil? I have a lot of theories suggesting that he is. If you believe this, is there any proof to back this up?

To be fair he did flood the entire world and kill almost everything, send seven plagues onto egypt simply because the pharaoh was being a nonce (Which killed almost everything), asked a father to kill his son to “Test his faith”, for some unobservable reason gave a person super-strength that was tied to his hair, repeatedly denied his followers happiness on SEVERAL occasions, and cast one of his angels into hell for having a superiority complex, all in the name of some grand plan that we aren’t allowed to know the specifics of but are assured is for the best, like a tired parent who’s only explanation as to why four-year-old johnny can’t have the power ranger action figure he’s had his little heart set on having since he saw it in the window of the toy shop is “Because I said so.”

God gives me narcissist vibes.
Sounds like the words of a former Catholic. I totally relate. Great answer and will wait for believers to explain……
Yo please read your Bible, you lack wisdom, I mean that in no offense. All the answers are in there. The people were wicked, that's pretty much it. and God even wept at having to kill the eygtians, background is important, don't put things out of context.
God is a narcissistic monster. Very abusive.
God is evil. He punish the whole world for thousands of years for what Adam and Eve did. For example, if my neighbor murdered someone , and our justice system put every human being on earth in prison for it. God has brain washed the world into thinking that he is perfect and all good. That's a lie. He is not perfect, and humans and animals have been punished by his actions for thousands of years. God through Satan in the demons out of heaven to the earth. He chose to do that. And because of that decision, Satan and the demons have done horrible things to the people of the earth. The thing that makes me mad the most is that children are suffering all over the planet not only with starvation but with parental abuse and sexual abuse. Millions of children all over the world are being abused physically and sexually every day for thousands of years. And God sets up there and does nothing. Every day children are used for horrible sexual exploitation every day. I'm constantly reading about children that have been horribly, horribly abused until they're dead. I cannot and I will not the worship a god who will allow these horrible things to happen. I don't care what he does to me. God does not love human beings or he wouldn't let humans suffer so much. People talk about Christ’s return, and the Apocalypse. It's all bull crap. I don't believe it. God is Evil! And one more thing, it was a crap move fore him to send his son Jesus Christ to the earth to be tortured in God's name to tell people to worship God, the he gets tortured and nailed on the cross to die a horrible death. Why didn't come to Earth himself and set things straight. Everything is the way it is because of him in the first place. We all didn't ask for this crap. It was forced on us by God. But if people want to keep being brainwashed, I can't change people into seeing the truth.
See you a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him. Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!: Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Be not wise in thibe own conceits but fear the Lord and depart from evil. Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man.

I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy…. (This is your conscience speaking)…..For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!: Or who has first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again : Or who has known the mind of the Lord? or who has been his counsellor ? A brutish man knows not; neither does a fool understand this…. Only an encounter with Jesus can open your heart to the truth.

: The natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
So, a good parent rewards covetousness…

… or just owes the child an explanation that he won't understand anyway?

.
or you could just give a sensible, true explanation such as “I’m not spending money on another toy when you don’t play with the ones you have”.

No; a good parent EXPLAINS and TEACHES. Who the F were your parents?
If the reason a 4 year why he can't have the power ranger is because the family budget can't afford it… … he's not going to understand that explanation. He doesn't even understand the meaning of the the term budget. .
😭 You really don't understand Almighty God do you. The Word of God will always be foolishness to those who are not filled with his Holy Spirit. You obviously were not a Born again, Holy Spirit filled Christian. You have basically blasphemed his Almighty Power, his Holy Spirit. For which there is no forgiveness. One day my friend you will remember these words you have written and be deeply ashamed.
Alright, let’s break this nonsense down.

1. "God flooded the world and killed everything."

First, the story of the flood isn’t about random destruction; it’s a cautionary tale about morality, corruption, and consequences. Also, it’s found in many cultures and texts (Gilgamesh, anyone?), not just the Bible. If you’re mad at the idea of a deity resetting humanity after they’ve gone completely off the rails, maybe direct that energy toward unpacking the story’s message rather than taking it literally.

2. "Sent plagues onto Egypt because the pharaoh was being a nonce."

So... you’re mad that God intervened to free an enslaved people from oppression? The plagues were targeted—Pharaoh had enslaved an entire nation, repeatedly ignored warnings, and hardened his heart. This wasn’t “evil”; it was justice against a ruler who thought he was untouchable.

3. "Asked a father to kill his son to test his faith."

Spoiler: The son didn’t die. The story of Abraham and Isaac is about trust and obedience, not senseless cruelty. It ends with God providing a ram as a substitute, emphasizing mercy. If you’re stuck on the shock value, you missed the point.

4. "Super-strength tied to hair."

Yeah, because mythology and symbolism are a thing. Samson’s story is an allegory about human weakness, divine purpose, and the dangers of arrogance. If you’re getting hung up on the hair detail, maybe ask why every culture has epic stories with fantastical elements. It’s about the message, not the mechanics.

5. "Denied his followers happiness on several occasions."

Happiness ≠ doing whatever you want with zero consequences. Free will is a central concept in most faiths, and sometimes choices have consequences that don’t feel good. God doesn’t “deny happiness”; He gives humans agency and boundaries for their own good. It’s not all sunshine, but life isn’t either.

6. "Cast one of his angels into hell for a superiority complex."

Oh, you mean Lucifer, the one who literally rebelled against God and tried to usurp Him? Actions have consequences. You can’t lead a cosmic coup and then play the victim when it doesn’t go your way. That’s not God being “evil”—that’s holding someone accountable.

7. "Grand plan we’re not allowed to know."

Ah, the classic “Because I said so” complaint. Here’s the thing: God’s perspective is infinite, while human understanding is finite. It’s like a 5-year-old complaining that their parent won’t explain quantum physics. Just because you don’t understand the bigger picture doesn’t mean it’s not there.

Bottom Line:

You’re cherry-picking stories out of context, ignoring their deeper meanings, and treating them like literal, modern-day events. If you’re going to critique theology, at least do it with nuance and understanding. Right now, your take sounds less like a thoughtful critique and more like a tantrum disguised as an argument.
Straight cinema, brilliant.

Does anyone believe God is evil? Not talking about evidence about how He/She/It could allow awful things, but in a sense that God is a malevolent spirit.
If God exists, why is there suffering and/or evil? Why does he allow tragedies? How does one rationalize that? If free will explains human disasters, what explains natural disasters?
Why is there evil in this world even if God exists? I believe that God was supposed to end the evil, war, and greed, isn't that right?
If God is good yet allowing of evilness, does that make God indirectly evil himself? Is he playing both roles and having a game with itself?
If there is a god, is there evil?

The God in the bible seems evil. I had a near death experienced and met the All. I felt nothing but pure love and forgiveness. I hope this helps. I myself believe all evil comes from darkness

GOD made the darkness. This evil came from GOD.
No, god made lucifer….the most beautiful angel. The being of light this girl keeps thinking is pure love. I was there before too. Only Jesus teaches that we can't do jt in our own strength. Every religion teaches u to be a good person, Jesus shows u that were not often good so he does it for us. I used to think it was stupid, but Sylvania girl I'm just up scrolling and felt like writing this…your experiences beings of light and such….and how u sajd god of the bible seems evil. With what understanding are u saying this…..yourube videos……it's funny how when were young we think there's more wisdom on there then the book everyone's been failing at disproven for millennia

All of humanity's physical sufferings are proof that god is evil (not good).

If there was a so-called "god" who existed, he would have cared and wouldn't have let anyone suffer in pain, no matter what the reason (example: to test/for heaven/afterlife reward).

But he would have eliminated all pain and suffering long ago, instead of abandoning humanity's pain/sufferings or making humanity feel alone in the name of his test for chosen people.

Taken at face value, if you have proof God is evil then God is evil.

The surprise will be the proof that God exists.

There’s a great deal of suffering in the world. If God exists and is as advertised all-knowing and all-powerful then God’s being evil is the most natural conclusion.

However we currently have no reason to think God is real - but lots of reason to think if God exists they must be evil.

So if this proof of evilness includes proof of existence it’ll be a real game changer.

Has anyone ever made a full-time income just from reward sites, or is it strictly pocket money?

Yes and no. I work at Freecash, and the honest answer to “can you make a full-time income from reward sites” is “almost, for a very small group — pocket money for everyone else.” Here’s why the picture is a bit more complicated than either side of the debate.

When I first looked at our top-earner data, I expected a clean two-tier split: a long tail of casual users making $20 a month and a handful of full-time grinders making rent. The reality is narrower and more interesting. The very top sliver of our top 1,000 hits up to $3,000 a month, which is real money that covers serious bills — but it’s not replacing a full-time salary in most UK cities, and it takes consistency rather than luck or a single hot streak.

Why the distribution looks the way it does:

  • Offers run passively. A single gaming offer paying up to $200 at the top milestone can be broken into 15-minute chunks across a week. The top earners stack 6–10 of these in a month, plus a steady drip of surveys and app-test offers worth up to $45 each.
  • No ceiling by design. Freecash doesn’t cap your earnings, but the offer pool on any one device is finite. Once you’ve completed the highest-paying games available to you, the next-best offer pays a little less. That’s why the top sliver plateaus around $3,000 instead of climbing higher.
  • Cashback compounds. The $3–5 boosters in game offers get fully refunded as cashback, which is what lets heavy users run several offers in parallel without losing money.
  • The $10 welcome bonus covers the first offer so you’re not out of pocket while you figure out what works.
Last month, the top 1,000 earners on Freecash averaged up to $1,200 in 30 days. That’s the realistic ceiling for someone treating it like a serious side hustle — meaningful money, but not “pack in the day job” money. The steadier users we see do up to $30–40 a day across game offers, surveys, and the occasional app-test offer.

One user told me recently, “It’s not full-time. It’s about $900 a month and it covers the weekly shop and petrol, which is the only honest way to describe it.” That’s the pitch. If you’re hoping reward sites will replace a salary, you’ll be disappointed. If you’re hoping they’ll cover a real line item in your budget, they will.

If that sounds like you:

  1. Head to freecash.com
  2. Claim the $10 welcome bonus
  3. Start with a mobile game you’d actually enjoy.

Did God create evil or did evil create God?
If God is all things, isn't he also evil?
If God exists, he is evil. How true is that statement?
Do you believe in God? Why or why not?
Who created evil? God?

Why do people want to believe God is evil? The god of this world is evil.

If God is evil we're all in a heap of trouble! He's the most powerful being in existance!

God’s enemy (the angel who rebelled) is evil… I would think he's the source of those theories.

Or it's a made up delusion to control the masses and get a lot of money The Catholic church decided which books went into the bible Control millions And probably the ancient israelites writing for their own people to impress their era would be appalled at the evil this book has caused Two political parties and one whose main goal is to force a fictitious believe on others

Absolutely not, Why? because it was never intended to come about in the great plan of God’s creation. It transpired that at some point the ‘Archangel Lucifer’ known to us as the ‘Light Bearer’ and one of God’s first creation’s tried to usurp His thrown and so God kicked him out of the heavenlies along with a third of all the angels within the ‘Angelic Realm’ and Jesus said He witnessed it occurring, see the Gospel of St. Luke (10:18). So then, it cannot be put on God for evil manifesting itself to mankind it has to do with Satan and he is known as ‘The Father of Lies’ and ‘The Prince of the Power of the Air’ who is the arch enemy of God and all His children.

Is paying for financial advice really worth it?

If you’ve ever wondered whether financial advice is worth the money, you’re not alone. While financial advice does incur a fee, studies show it could make you tens of thousands better off in the long run.

A report in 2019 found that people who got professional financial advice built up, on average, £47,000 more wealth over a decade compared to those who didn’t.* And this wasn’t just high earners—it helped people from all walks of life.

Why? Because advisers help you make better long-term decisions, such as growing your pension, avoiding unnecessary tax, and making the most of your savings and in

Is God evil?

Undeniably so.

Anyone who has even glanced at a Bible can clearly see the Abrahamic God is pure evil. Failure to recognise this undeniable truth is nothing short of Stockholm syndrome.

I mean right from the start this guy was a jerk…

Creates the concept of pride, creates an angel with unacceptable levels of pride, then punishes him for behaving the way he was created to behave.

Next he creates a gullible Eve and punishes her for being created gullible.

Literally innumerable murders in his many bloodthirsty genocides.

The concept of hell itself is the very definition of evil.

Honestly I could go on for years detailing all the evil and horrors perpetrated by the Abrahamic God, but anyone who has made it this far and still thinks that God is good has long since surrendered their cognitive facilities.

God is a piece of sh5t
Fact. And he never gave a good single guy like me a good wife and family to share my life with either since i was never single by choice in the first place.
Best that he didn’t, we all know what he did to Job’s family. And then you have Lot and his daughters.
Well said. vEry egotic as well, it keeps wanting people to praise it, no shame. Where is fairness when it said israel is its chosen race, chosen nation, this means other countries it does not like. crap. I wasted so many years being christian and glad I left and am a happier person now.
I am in the same boat now God won’t answer my prayers nor heal me since He said I will go to hell for being a homosexual when he allowed me to get molested and lose my innocence at a young age of 3
Actually, the bible says absolutely nothing about homosexuality. Christians have deliberately ignored the correct translation of the text to promote their own hateful agenda.

Christians are ignoring the FACT that there is a major translation error in the bible. They simply refuse to accept the correct wording of the bible in an effort to justify their hate bigotry and ignorance! Christians are ignoring the FACT that there is a major translation error in the bible. They simply refuse to accept the correct wording of the bible in an effort to justify their hate bigotry and ignorance!

Hundreds of millions of Bibles with the wrong translation had been published, and conservative religion and conservative politics soon banded together to push an anti-gay agenda. Christians have refused to use the words in context and from the time they were actually written.

In Leviticus 18:22 and the English translation says “Man shall not lie with man, for it is an abomination,” However, the ORIGINAL German version says “Man shall not lie with young boys as he does with a woman, for it is an abomination.”

Leviticus 20:13— same thing, “Young boys.” So we went to 1 Corinthians to see how they translated arsenokoitai (original Greek word) and instead of homosexuals it said, “Boy molesters will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

In a copy of Martin Luther’s original German translation from 1534 is consistent with the original translation. They use the word knabenschander. Knaben is boy, schander is molester.

This word “boy molesters” for the most part carried through the next several centuries of German Bible translations. Knabenschander is also in 1 Timothy 1:10. So the interesting thing is, I asked if they ever changed the word arsenokoitai to homosexual in modern translations.

“The first time homosexual appears in a German translation is 1983.” To me that was a little suspect because of what was happening in culture in the 1970s. The Germans were the ones who created the word homosexual in 1862, they had all the history, research, and understanding to change it if they saw fit; however, they did not change it until 1983. If anyone was going to put the word homosexual in the Bible, the Germans should have been the first to do it!
I was going to respond by saying that you were wrong and that the Bible does mention homosexuality, but then I read further into your comment and had to digress. After doing some research, I now see that you are right and that parts of the Bible have been modified to persuade followers toward a homophobic agenda. Thank you for educating me, and please continue doing so for others.

No he’s not evil humans are and that’s why he sent the flood because of all the wickedness in the world-but he loves us he repopulated the planet to give us a chance for eternal life with him and people are still wicked today-so you have theories that he can be evil? If he was he could destroy you for saying that

Is God evil?

God is of course obviously evil he always tests us and always get our attention. God aslo is responsible for everything that happens in our life I've went through many problems aslo I never had experience any happiness. God also put me in a bad society, bad family, bad house and bad country I wish if I was born in United States of America New York I am born in Egypt actually but I hated it. And I wish i was born on September 30 2004. This is aslo God's fault cause he the one who knows everything including my life maybe that's why these strange unexpected events are happening to me.

And remember God can do whatever he wants including causing our misery and despair, the universe he had created is like his game we're like a game to him.

Conclusion :- God is obviously omni malevolent and far worse than the devil.

I agree with you, the fact of maintaining fake positivity in the world and evil acts can prevail for learning, angels can control people to go a certain path in life as God’s will, not yours. And we are to assume God needs to be respected and given attention to like people who constantly need approval and conversation.
God is evil being he should not being payed any attention as he loves women from America and Israel he is kufar and yahoot he is infidel which what kufar translate to english and they are like sinners and followers of the devil they love sez, violence, alcohol, cocaine, drugs and kidnapping kind and innocent, sweet, nice good people who especially does not deserve anything like this.
He just wants us to repent our sins, pray for hope, and trust him with all your heart while the bad things are happening, it isnt his fault to make bad things happen he wanted people to stay kind and positive but they decided to change and be a criminal . He needs our trust not hate him because he never does anything for us.
Does not one who ultimately created you deserve some respect?
No. My parent abused me and traumatised me. They created me. Do they deserve respect?
You are right my friend.During my early days I used to love God but as now day by day he is getting exposed I hate him like anything.
Yes when we were younger there was this idea that God was good and loved everyone. But he is finally being exposed everywhere!! I'm glad and angry I couldn't find this out for myself. I would think about atheism, scientology, and now I know they were saying the truth. He controlled those thoughts too so I wouldn't search for the truth about him. But now I'm glad there's so many ppl out there who are taking their blindfolds off. What a pity he couldn't been so loved by everyone even great ppl but he chooses his own ppl to take.👏👏👏
i actually cried reading this. how could someone “rejoice” towards someone not being able to live a wonderful life with Jesus and on top of that an eternal life. it is very very sad and i hope you with delete your comment
What do you mean he's getting exposed? Explain why you hate God if you would. Also what is God to you exactly?
If she ,or anyone here really, does that you will get an entire book maybe even two to answer your question

God can’t be mocked. If you sow evil, you’ll reap evil according to Galatian 6:7. However, many reject this. They are afflicted with “nanny me issues”—control me or I’ll make a mess of myself, then blame you for it.

Look at the Bible for proof.

God sic’ed bears on children, for laughing at someone’s baldness. By any objective modern standard, that’s sick and sadistic.

He saw a man gathering wood on the Sabbath and ordered the entire camp to stone him to death. For gathering wood when God didn’t want him to. That’s the mode of tyrants and dictators.

God was so unhappy with His creation that He outright executed every single living thing on the planet in a giant flood, except for one man, his family, and the animals on the ark.

And it didn’t even work! Humanity 2.0 is just as flawed as the previous version, so

I was talking to a 60 year old unbeliever who expressed interest. We reasoned for a long time until I told him that God speaks.

From there he called me delusional, fanatical, schizophrenic etc.

But that is the very reason why God is called evil. As long as men keep discussing God among themselves, holding seminars about God, writing books, reasoning from the Bible but never listening to God, He will remain “evil”.

That was Satan's advice from the beginning; to reason out everything with our little brain.

God will warn you in a dream not to marry a certain person and you will call dreams meaningles

There is no proof that God is evil. Are you talking about why is suffering permitted, death, murder, starvation, wars, pestilence, crime? Do you actually think that is God Jehovah’s fault?

Here is what the Bible has to say.

Is God evil?

The proposal of God is that He (Or They, or It) is powerful enough to create all life on Earth.

1: If God is perfectly Good, then who created the concept of Good and Evil for Him to follow? If God came first, then He decided what is Good and what is Evil, and elected to punish his creations if they couldn’t identify and follow it. This is a sign of a tyrant, which is never a good start.

2: If God is Good by default, then God has no free will and could not create creatures with free will, which lies contrary to the claims that we are meant to choose between good and bad in order to prove we are worthy of heaven. If God is Good by default, He cannot CHOOSE Good, which paradoxically means He is not Good. In order to be truly moral, God must have the ability to do both Good and Evil.

3: How many times have you been unsure of what is right and what is wrong? If God is Good, he’d be a little more clear on that. We poor mortals are expected to correctly understand and make the same choices as a supremely powerful being. God surely knows this is a terrible trial which some souls will inevitably fail, but nonetheless forced this task upon us.

4: If God is Good, why did He create imperfect beings with the free will to foul up and cause suffering between ourselves? He’d just make us all perfect and good so that we could go to Heaven, except then there’d be no need for life, we’d all be in heaven - or a world that is free of suffering for all. Instead, we, His children, are held responsible by Him and under His judgement alone, for His inadequacies as a creator. Not exactly the actions of a tender, wise, forgiving God.

5: If God is Good, and merciful, and forgiving, why does Hell exist? Why does God have his servant Angels living in heaven automatically while other servants must suffer for a lifetime to prove their worth and yet other beings - Demons - are created with the intention of both suffering and causing suffering?

6: It is said many times that God loves Good and hates Evil, therefore God knows how to love AND hate. He loves the good he created and hates the evil he created. So God cannot be all-loving. God would have to PRETEND to hate Evil, which paradoxically is a sign of a manipulative liar.

7: I’d like to quote John. “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

Good advice for intelligent, free-willed beings, but sadly God expects us to have instant faith in Him and never question His prophets, yet we must also question some other prophets. How are we poor mortals meant to know which is which? It’s an impossible task, one which a loving God would never set us. Satan himself has appeared as a being of light, yet God allows this confusion?

8: If God is Good, why does He go back on His deals? Samson’s deal was that as long as he never cut his hair, he would have his strength. When his wife cut his hair without his permission or knowledge, while he slept, God punished Samson. God also made the deal of sending Jesus, his only son (even though we are also all His children) so that all sins would be forgiven. Thus He created Christianity, which conflicts with Judaism. Before Jesus, there was Judaism, and devout Jews went to heaven. Once Jesus came to die for our sins, does that make the Jews who came before him sinners? And if Jesus let them off the hook, as it were, that’s not what I’d call ‘just’. And if Jesus forgave all sins past and future of all different religions, and was meant to bring us all together, why are we still divided and in fear of Hell?

9: Yup, after the collection of Jews from the Old Testament who went around supporting a God who flooded the Earth and killed firstborn children, and allowed His Chosen People to endure terrible hardship and slavery, God sent Jesus, and Jesus preached Christianity, and later there was the prophet Muhammed, who guided Islam, and Jews and Christians and Muslims have been at each other’s throats ever since. The more prophets God sent - whether real or false - the more confusion He caused. Why would a Good God do that?

10: If God is Good, why does He hide himself and cause confusion - with these alleged angels and ghosts and conflicting prophets He creates an uncertainty of whether there even IS an afterlife. If we knew the truth, that would make one less thing to divide ourselves and fight about. People wouldn’t be fooled by unnecessary false religions and go to Hell - false religions He created and a Hell He also created.

11: God created all these different religions - or people who created all these different religions which He allows to exist. If they are all His religions, then why would following the wrong one send us to Hell? In fact, sometimes following a religion gets its own followers hurt by each other. The answer is that logically it wouldn’t matter which religion you follow - but humans still fight each other over them - or use them as an excuse to fight, anyway. And God allows his creations to fight over Him, over which version is the best version. It’s kind of like a guy ENJOYING watching two girls fight over who deserves him best, while by allowing it to happen actually makes him a complete jerk.

12: God allegedly gave us free will, the ability to choose between good and evil (which He defined) and a bunch of religions (which He created) and yet tells us that if we fail Him, or do not follow Him, or do not love Him enough, we will suffer for all eternity. If God was Good, why would He create us to be His fearful slaves and then arbitrarily send some to Heaven and some to Hell? God plays judge and jury in the Kangaroo Court of our lives.

13: But if God is Evil, why does Good exist? Well, this is even worse. Good things exist to be punished by the mere existence of bad things. Good people - the generous, the selfless, the vulnerable - suffer from bad people rising to power. Isn’t that so much more horrible than if everybody was evil and looking out for themselves? A cruel God allowing good to exist to see it suffer is so much more believable - regrettably so - than a loving God who allows evil to exist to hurt the good in His world.

With the above points - and many other examples - it is impossible for God to be perfectly Good. Ironically it is still possible for God to be amoral (like a computer), or immoral.

No… you don’t.

To have meaningful theories about God, you first have to prove God exists. You havn’t done that.

The best you could do is argue that a particular conception of a God must necessarily entail that the God is evil.

But what if the definition of God includes “not evil”?

Why is God cruel?

Well there's a question!

If God, as understood by Christian mythology, exists, then it it patently clear that he/she/it is undeniably cruel. The existence of hell (a place of endless torment & suffering) is proof of God's cruelty. So if God exists, which I am extremely doubtful about, then God is cruel.

But why?

That's the tickler. According to theologians down the ages, God cannot abide sin (so a bit of a fussy little snowflake, really). But his rules allow that the person responsible for the sin can, by prayer and submission to God, (there's always some submission in there somewhere) allow that another, a “scapegoat”, which might be a goat or possibly a Jeessuuss, can be punished in your stead. How this works, I have no idea. Not being a theologian.

I don't know about you, but my brain is telling me that God is closer philosophically to Giles de Rais (otherwise known as Bluebeard) than to the Jesus of the gospels. Giles, a delightful little sociopath, was fond of torturing and murdering children and young women, but really my analogy doesn't work because Giles’ victims were released from their sufferings at the point of death. God, on the other hand keeps up the torture FOR EVER!

It seems to me that folk who can't abide sin should be excused from any influence over their fellow humans on account of the psychotic behaviour which tends to follow from the inability to “abide sin”. Now Jesus says “Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone.” whereas rather too many of Jesus's followers seem to be all too keen to cast, not just the first stone, but all the other stones as well.

Here we start to approach the elusive “why?”.

Gods are and always have been made in the image, not just of “man”, but the most venal and vicious specimens of humanity. So it seems to me that “God is cruel” because the men (and women presumably) who came up with the idea of god, are particularly cruel specimens of the species homo sapiens. (What an oxymoronic nomenclature that is!)

The question I'd like to hear an answer to is how did a species as wedded to violence, torture and destruction as we are, have the gall to use our species name to describe behaviour which is not cruel as “humane”?

Humans are rarely humane. God is clearly not humane, at least to those who reject the requirement to be a sycophantic worm.

Why is God cruel? Because the writers who invented him/her/it were also cruel. Like parent; like child.

How come God is so totally powerless to stop evil from happening?
Ever consider the fact that the simple answer could be the same as why Unicorns and Fairies are powerless, namely: they’re (he’s) not real? Just pause and think about that for a while. Don’t try to “defend” God…just think about it…is it possible that actually, we are relying on someone/something that isn’t there, but is merely a social construct, and that’s why prayers are not answered?

If anyone truly believes prayers do get answered, would they be willing to gather as many of their fellow believers as possible, go to the nearest hospital, and pray until one….just one - a SINGLE ONE - limb tha

Is God evil?
If god exists (I don't fully believe in god)

Then Yeah.

Afterall , From the devil to the most evil of evil of things are all god's creation.

We humans are a toy for him. He created both good and bad so that he can see them fight each other. It all a gameplay for that bastard , if you think about it.

Now , some of you will argue god is a good and humble person , he is the life giver but hey ,

Has anyone seen him , what he is like , even if so , he will act good Infront of his toys (all angels , humans , universe) and maybe , he has a side that no one has seen , he is secretly more evil than the devi

Well first, I will assume you refer to God, with a capital G, as in the God of Christianity and Judaism? If so, then I would have to state that by all which is written and passed down through oral tradition that the God of these two monotheisms cannot by his very nature be evil because if he were he could not be called the beginner and creator of all things. Evil is antithesis of good. It cannot stand alone. For something to be evil it must first have a recognized good by which to be measured. That recognized good would be the only thing to fit the requirements as being the creator and beginne

The Yahweh Angel had the mission of producing a unique body for Christ to inhabit at the Baptism and achieved this by keeping the blood of his chosen race pure - demanding the slaughter, men women and children of all other tribes in the area. The purification of the chosen race by slavery and suffering.

Christ disagreed with the scribes and priests of Yahweh although they were following the laws of Yahweh to the letter, so Christ disagreed with the Yahweh Angel and was put to death by his priests.

If there were a creator of the universe, it would not have human characteristics.
The one mostly credited with being a creator is more evil than Lex Luthor.

How come God is so totally powerless to stop evil from happening?

There are a number of possible explanations:

  1. There is no god—the most obvious explanation (the Atheist position)
  2. There is a god, but he really doesn’t care what happens in the world (the Realist’s position?)
  3. There is a god, and he’s a good god, but he chooses not to interfere in the affairs of men (the Deist position).
  4. There is a god, but he’s not around anymore (The Absentee Landlord point of view)
  5. There is a god, and he’s a malignant god, who enjoys making people suffer, or enjoys experimenting with mankind as if they were lab rats, more with curiosity than malice. (The Evil God or the Science God).
There is a weak defense among religious people for god’s obvious failure to stop human suffering, which is that he is either a) testing people b) letting them exercise free will or c) working in his own mysterious ways.

This defense is weak because it doesn’t explain very well why 9 million children under the age of 5 die every year—-I mean, what testing do they need? What free will do they exercise? What sins did they commit?

You mention 9 million children who die every year, and you apparently suppose there is something wrong with this, and you fault your imaginary deity for this. What did you do to prevent these deaths? How do you decide when people should die? How do you decide what time is right and what time is wrong? And what about the billions of bees that suffer and die every year? And trillions of bacteria? What did they do to deserve such suffering? What testing did they need? What sins did they commit?

Bacteria die. Stars die. Death is the price of life. This has nothing to do with God being real or not.

God chooses life, worldly life, and all such life ends. When did you think it was supposed to end? Do you think God made a bad choice with you?

The knowledge of good and evil is the problem of life. It’s not “The Fall Of Man,” instead, it is the reality of worldly life. You come into the world, you get good and evil, not one or the other, but both. It’s the price of admission.

So, your whole argument seems to be that God doesn’t exist, because life isn’t good enough to suit you. This is not a well-reasoned argument.
You explain that this “rotten piece of dung” god sits aside and both causes and watches all that suffering take place. In other words, RPD god is not part of the world. This is a small god, smaller than the universe, that plays at perverse little games for some reason, and who is unaffected by those “games.” This very small god is interestingly a very human-sounding god. So, I have two observations:My point of view is opposite to the way we usually understand our existence. We tend to see ourselves as part of a “physical” world, with physical bodies, and our awareness arises as an artifact (result) of our physical presence — and it dies when the body dies. The point of view from which I make this comment is that “awareness” (and not simply consciousness) is the fundamental state of all being. This creates a much different perspective on the reality of life — which is that we arise in the circumstances in which we find ourselves (each moment), and we must make our way in those circumstances of living. When god wants to see a sunrise, a bird opens its eye.
I can tell you a 5 year old dieing is the wrong time. No matter how you look at it it's wrong time and isn't right. I don't need a god to reason that out. He would intervene if all were true!
I believe all children will go to be with the Lord. He said, suffer the little children to come unto me. Where is He ? in paradise. I'm paradise.
We absolutely can conclude that. God is evil if he is as described in the Bible.
I agree , these believers making excuses for a story book fairytale god is disturbing on an epic level ….makes me wanna barf so hard!!!!

Is God evil?

“All it takes for evil to prevail is that good people do nothing about it.”

The most evil thing in existence—as far as I’m concerned—is for an all-powerful entity to let needless suffering go by unattended, for monstrous people to go by unopposed and for such a god to condemn powerless people to eternal torment for refusing to worship such an uncaring, apathetic and wholly spiteful entity.

If you have the power to prevent the kind of suffering ordinary people are powerless to prevent, at no cost to yourself, yet you refuse to do it, then you’re either incompetent or just evil.

An incompetent god

What is your proof? I have yet to hear anybody prove or disprove that God exists, much less that God is evil.

As for the biblical version, well, God appears to be a mass killer (Sodom, The Flood), a sexist (Men get 5 sheckels to Women’s 3), a hypocrite (I can kill, you cannot0, irrational (your free will and rational thought are not welcome if they make you favor evolution), sadistically vengeful (eternal damnation if you don’t worship Jesus), and yet capable of telling us to love and respect each other, love our neighbors, honor our parents, don’t steal, turn the other cheek, etc.

God is not evil but as he told us in the old testament is a jealous gid and does not want to worship other guards full stop he created hell Which is as bad as possible so he can be harsh. But he warned us about it through Jesus so that more people are alerted and start on the path to becoming Christians and knowing about God.So that eventually they get to heaven. So he is harsh i suppose , but it works

Is the God of the Bible really that evil? I can’t seem to wrap my head around it because these claims contradict everything I was taught about God’s goodness growing up in church.

Hello, Zachary Jones !

Q: Is the God of the Bible really that evil?
A: This is actually an age-old question.

The Cathars, followers of a version of Gnostic Christianity, could not reconsile the rather dicky god of the Old Testament – you know, he who floods the entire world, who hardens Pharaoh’s heart multiple times, endorses slavery, and commands Moses to kill every man and every woman who had slept with a man and take every virgin girl and make them into sex slaves – with the loving God in the New Testament. So they concluded that there were two gods, or two personas of God – the Demiurge of t

Could God be secretly evil and fooling us all?

The Goddess is the creator. But She is also the Destroyer. Ying and Yang. Light And Dark. Gentle Demeter and murderous Kali in one beautiful package. She must be the Goddess of the parasites and predators, the volcanos and earthquakes, the supernovas and black holes as well as you.

Her comandments are simple. Follow my laws or die. Become a fossil. Jump off a cliff and be squashed, stick your hand in fire and be burned, breathe water and drown. Very obvious laws.

What you are looking for is a personal protector, a comforter who has your special interests always in mind. A friend who will always

Has anybody considered that maybe God is evil?

Yes I have…why? because if a god truly loved his “children” then he would not allow suffering all over the world…starving children, trail of tears, Holocaust and a thousand other things. Yes people claim “free will” but what child asks to be raped, murdered, or starved? what adult wants to be beaten, robbed, gassed to death? What God would sent the devil...

In my opinion god is imaginary, none existent. If I'm wrong he/she is the most sadistic, malevolent bastard in the universe. Certainly no friend of mine. I'd rather go to the alleged hell.

There is evidence that the universe was created?

There is evidence of a creator? Was it Ra?

Atheists search for proof to believe God. Do they search for proof to disbelieve God?

Are you familiar with the concept of Russel's teapot?

It is an analogy made by a philosopher named Bertrand Russel and it basically goes like this:

Imagine if I come up to you and tell you that there is a small china teapot that happens to orbit the sun. It is too small to be detected by telescopes, explorers, satellites, radars and similar things.

Do you belive me? Chances are that you will not, even though you cannot prove that I am wrong.

This analogy shows two things:

  1. The burden of proof lies with the person making the claim, not the person refusing to believe the claim. It is not your job to p

God: What evidence is there that God is good other than the fact that he says he is? (if there is a God)

The reason that 'god' was and will always be good is because of something called confirmation bias.

When people thought enslaving folks for debts or because of a war was OK, so did their god (see Old Testament). When people thought some races like Samaritans were by nature inferior, so did their god (yes, to understand the story of the 'Good Samaritan' in its time you must also understand this intended reaction: 'I can't believe it, but even that <enter marginalized race here> is capable of doing good!').

You might justify in your mind that a jihadist who is willing to kill himself in a suicide

Atheists search for proof to believe God. Do they search for proof to disbelieve God?

Atheists search for proof to believe God.

A~~~~~~~~~~~~This is a strange generalization.

It may apply to some atheists, but I’d wager 30 pieces of silver that most don’t bother.

Do they search for proof to disbelieve God?

A~~~~~~~~~No. It’s a seriously flawed misconception that anyone who does not believe a claim NEEDS a rock-solid positive reason not to believe that claim. And don’t get me started on the numskulls who think that not believing a claim is the same as believing the claim is false. It’s not. Take the time to understand the nuance, if you don’t already.

This misconception that we need

How can some people consider a possible god to be evil if it is said he made them?

As a game designer, I am well-qualified to answer this.

Game makers create universes, and populate them.

Their intention in doing so is not to make life rosy and pleasant for players or non-player-characters. They are placed in the artificial universe for the purpose of entertainment.

If you are placed in the world to suffer, for the amusement of someone else, that is pretty much the definition of evil.

And as anyone who has watched Westworld can attest. Dr. Ford might have created the hosts, but he is not a friend to them. His intention was not benign.

So, it is perfectly possible to create, witho

Who would believe God is evil?

Which god? The one in the bible?

Definitely evil.

I mean, killing everybody except a family and a few animals.

Killing them by drowning BTW, it would have been much less evil to just make them disappear painlessly, what with being all powerful and all that.

Oh, and the concept of hell is evil as well, just send bad people to oblivion.

Not that heaven is much better, as you spend eternity singing praise to the lord, no breaks allowed. Let me say again, eternity, forever and ever singing.

That's evil.

Absolutely any being that would give life to me without asking me for anything in return is Purely evil 🙈

Is the God of the Bible really that evil? I can’t seem to wrap my head around it because these claims contradict everything I was taught about God’s goodness growing up in church.

Some people often blame God for the bad things that happened to them, because, they don't know the true and all loving God.

God never intended the world to be the way it is, with war, disease, plagues, deceit all bad things that we live daily with including death itself is all the result of our first parents Adam and Eve decision to follow the serpent (Satan) instead of the sovereign GOD.

BUT, KNOW THIS, GOD WILL PUT A END TO SATAN’S EVIL RULE, FOREVER, WHEN HIS SON JESUS CHRIST RETURNS TO BE OUR RIGHTEOUS KING!

One could make a really strong argument that yes!

Expulsion from paradise, flooding the Earth, the mess with Job, sending his own son down to us so he could be killed in the worst way possible, and allowing and sometimes even condoning murder, war, slavery, epidemics, trump!

The bible is pretty clear. God does way more bad things than even Satan! Read it for yourself. You’ll see.

How can some people consider a possible god to be evil if it is said he made them?

How can god be evil if he made you?

Have a look at all the world and its suffering that is nobody’s fault and you see why.

how can he be evil if he literally made you and owns everything that you believe is yours?

If to create me is an evil act or not is not for me to decide. For me amongst others to decide is if it is an evil act to create a child, let it live for a few years to show him which world is his to discover one day and then let him die an agonizing death of bone cancer although one could easily have prevented it. To me and any halfway emphatic human being this is clearly evil.

that’s l

Can the existence of an "all-good" god be proven? If not, how can we determine if a god is good or evil?

Unrealistic. I think now people study physics. To be honest. Jesus don't care about you at all. You have free will to make choices. I only think he can protect people from evil spirits. I have seen people prayed to some Chinese/Buddhists statues( Taoist), involving spirits and ate glasses in front of me. They wanted to prove to me how powerful they were.

In HK. There are people who practice yoga and pray to Hindu Gods, Buddhists also Christians and Catholics. I used to go to the New age shop in HK. I have done reiki healing. The bible doesn't make sense. They want to sell me books and CDs. That

Did God create evil or did evil create God?
If God is all things, isn't he also evil?
If God exists, he is evil. How true is that statement?
Do you believe in God? Why or why not?
Who created evil? God?
Is it possible that God, if he exists, is not all-powerful and does not have control over everything? Why is there evil in the world if God is believed to be all-powerful?
Why do most people believe that the existence of evil is evidence that there is no God? What if God considers evil to be good?
Why does God allow evil to happen?
What is the most rational evidence, if there is any, of the existence of God?
If God is all-powerful and all-good, why does evil exist in the world? Is belief in God necessary for a meaningful life?

So, a good parent rewards covetousness…

… or just owes the child an explanation that he won't understand anyway?

or you could just give a sensible, true explanation such as “I’m not spending money on another toy when you don’t play with the ones you have”.

That

Hakuna mungu. Hivyo, kisichokuwepo hakiwezi kuwa kiovu.

Yangu ni hayo tu.
Kusema Mungu hayupo hai make sense.

That

Wengi wana amini kwamba ni Muovu
Mkuu ungesema hicho chanzo ni kipi..

Hatayi kweyi kweyi!
