There have been rumors floating around the internet for weeks now, and yesterday they hit an all-time-high. Now Apple has come forward with an official invite for an event that promises to let us Come see what 2011 will be the year of.
The latest rumors are pointing towards an iPad 2, especially since the picture on the invite slightly reveals an iPad. The bigger question for me, though, is will this new unveiling make as big a splash without Steve Jobs at the helm? We know that he possesses the ability to make anything exciting, and since this could be a refresh of the iPad offering, without Steve at the podium, it might come across as just another product upgrade.
So, what do you think the event will showcase? I would say it will show off some sort of new iPad, probably with a retina display, two cameras, and faster processor. But will it also include the rumored new MacBook Pros, that should be unvieled tomorrow? It sounds like Apple would be better off holding the iPad 2 as the one more thing and mix it in with some laptop refreshes.
Regardless of what Apple decides to do, all eyes will be on the company as it does some sort of product unveiling without its veteran showman.
