I got a feeling. A feeling deep down in my bones that it’s the end of the road. A big announcement soon to come? Let’s keep it locked and not change that dial and we shall find out. But that’s neither here nor there. So let’s get to it.

Crisis iliyopo ni ya kujitakia.
Information management ni ule mzunguko mzima wa habari, kuanzia zinapopatikana na zinavyopatikana, zinavyokusanywa, zinavyochakatwa, halafu zinavyoenezwa au kusambazwa kwa umma.
Serikali ilipaswa ndo iwe ya kwanza kutujuza juu ya kinachoendelea.
Lakini, haikuwa hivyo.
Wamekaa wakazubaa mpaka mtandao ulipotutonya kuwa hali si shwari.
Kwa sisi wanahabari [yes, I am an electronic media broadcast specialist and a highly trained one, at that😉] huwa tuna msemo wetu kwamba ‘the internet is undefeated’.
Sasa hawa watu wa serikali ya CCM badala ya kuwa on top of it from the jump, wamewapa upenyo watu wa mtandaoni kuwa ndo wa kwanza kuufahamisha umma!
Matokeo yake ndo haya unaona waziri mkuu anasema hiki ambacho to all intents and purposes kinakuja kuwa contradicted na makamu wa raisi jana, ambaye bila kusema waziwazi kuwa kuna tatizo, akasema kuwa kuna tatizo.
Sasa matokeo ya kushindwa kuwa na information management nzuri ni yepi?
Well, unashindwa ku control the narrative. Unakuwa mtu wa ku react tu bila hata kutumia akili. Unaanza kukamata mafundi simu kwa sababu dhaifu kuliko hata afya za baadhi ya watu ambao for now shall remain nameless.
Right now it’s the internet that’s controlling the narrative. Denizens in the Twitter Republic of Tanzania and experts from the WhatsApp University of Tanzania are on fire. Rife with speculations.
I know that it is hard to prevent people from talking, especially on the internet.
However, all this was very avoidable had they been quick to tell us what is going on and give us updates on any new developments.
They’d have been in the driver’s seat, as far as controlling the narrative is concerned.
Now they are so confused. They don’t know what to do. And thus they’ve resorted to intimidation tactics and arresting regular Joes and Janes for asking what is basically a fair a question: where is he?
Faida ingine ya information management nzuri ni consistency.
Yaani wahusika wote wakuu mnakuwa katika ukurusa mmoja, kwa mintarafu ya habari mlizozitangaza.
Kunakuwa hakuna contradiction ya huyu kusema hiki na yule kusema tofauti na alichokisema huyu.
Hii pia inaepusha aibu mbeleni.
Majuzi ile waziri mkuu aliposema jamaa yupo na anaendelea kuchapa kazi, alikuwa anatuambia ukweli, kweli? Manake jana alichokisema Mama Samia hakishabihiani kabisa na alichokisema Bw. Majaliwa.
Had they better managed the information from the start, that would have allowed them to better handle the crisis we find ourselves in right now.
Halafu hili suala la information management ni tatizo kubwa hata kwa vyama vingine vya kisiasa.
