In a groundbreaking medical archivement in Delhi, India doctors at Ganga Ram hospital has successfully performed a bilateral hand transplant on painter who lost both hands in a train accident in 2020.

The 12 hours surgery hailed as a miracle by multiple Indian news outlets, involved meticulously connecting every blood vessel, muscle, tendon and nerve between the donors hands and the recipients arms.

The hands were generously donated by
Meena Mehta an administrative head of a reputed school in south Delhi, who had pledge her organs after her death.

Her kidney, liver, and corneas has already transformed to lives of three people and now her hands have given hope to the painter.
