Kigoma North MP Zitto Kabwe

After 10 years in parliament, Kigoma North MP Zitto Kabwe has announced that he will not seek stand for re-election in October general elections.

Kabwe was stripped of his CHADEMA membership last week after the High Court ruled out his injunction seeking to restrain the political party from deliberating the fate of his membership.

The lawmaker told Kigoma residents that he tried his best to defend his voters and national interests. Kabwe said he will continue to continue to fight against corruption, poverty, ignorance and diseases as an ordinary citizen.

Kabwe, currently serves as chair of Bunge's Public Accounts Committee (PAC) that was at the centre in the unearthing of the Tegeta escrow account scandal.

He listed connection 16 villages to electricity, better health care, port and market project in Kagunga village as his major achievements.
