Hi there everyone.

I have been reading JamiiForums from afar for a few months... & I felt it's time I joined in the arena of great thinkers. I am a Tanzanian, but I live in DRC ( temperature in Kinshasa reads "Rigged Elections").
Hope you won't mind me posting in English; my Congo swahili being a "bit" different...

@Mwali,

Asante.
DRC 2011 Elections are no different from the usual African cliche when the incumbent president is part of the run. So massive was the fraud, it was hard to miss. Most of the cases were denounced by the population itself who in the process beat up some perpetrators.
Some areas where he (Kabila) got 80+% of votes, participation is said to have reached a good 99%. The opposition was and still is disorganized enough to present about 10 candidates when I believe one candidate would have given them better chances of victory over Kabila and his dinosaurs. A good coverage of the elections is done here and one of the most serious reports on the elections is available here. Most politicians - lacking a viable program to propose - are busy trying to bring back the tribal confrontations; but it looks like the people have not bought into it much...
Like Ulimakafu says, most african countries are still learning and the Congolese people hopes to get it right in 2016.

@RussianRoulette,

Bring catastrophies, I hope to.
Catastrophism is the belief that major changes in the earth's crust result from catastrophes rather than evolutionary processes. I believe every one can at all levels and different scales engineer "positive tsunamis" just like JF is.
So I katastrophist am in reality & in my deeds, the antonym of my name.

@Everyone,

Thanks for the hospitality as I get used to so much freedom of speech...

Ila ungejifunza kutumie "reply with quote" itakua ni rahisi zaidi...
Alafu naona utamsaidia sana Jason Bourne kule jukwaa internationa, kuna thread ya uchaguzi Congo ilianzishwa ila naona imezorota.
