A hospital in the coastal city of Yanbu suspected foul play when a Saudi man in his 50s, with bruises all over his body, scratches on the face and a red eye, came for treatment.
Local Arabic daily Al-Madinah Wednesday reported that the hospital officials called the police, who found out that the man had been badly beaten by his 40-year-old wife.
The victim told police that his wife beat him after a verbal conflict.
The hospital said the man needed two weeks of treatment.
The police said as the incident was a case of family violence, it was turned over to the concerned authorities.
