Position: Human Resource Manager
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
- Implement and update on a regular basis MWAMBAO/MCCC’s HR strategies, policies, procedures and guidelines in compliance with best practices and National laws.
- Keep all staff informed of HR policies and procedures and of any changes, on a timely basis.
- Work closely with Head of Operations, Program Coordinators and CEO to ensure consistent compliance and uniform implementation of the HR policy and procedures throughout the organization.
- Review and recommend policies and guidelines on how to attract, motivate and retain staff.
- Guide MWAMBAO on legal responsibility relating to areas of labor law, employee taxation and employment insurance laws. Liaison with legal counsel as required.
- Regularly review and update Human Resource Manual to ensure consistency with MWAMBAO/MCCC labor laws and best practices in the HR field.
- Investigate employee issues and conflicts and brings them to resolution
- Use performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team
- Partner with management to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives
- Provide support and guidance to admin and program staff 4.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Education/Training Required Bachelors’ degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in human resource management. Desired Masters degree in HR management, administration or related field.
- Experience Required 5 years previous experience in HR management, of which 2 years should be in a senior level position. Desired Head of the HR department or unit in a NGO.
Technical Skills Required
- Knowledgeable about labor laws;
- Financial management skills
- Facilitation skills
- Excellent report-writing and communication skills
- Computer skills in MS Word, Excel

- Excellent and proven experience in strategic planning of human resource management;
- Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, transparent and participatory management. Desired Experience with HR Management Information System.
